2017 Met Gala Couples

In addition to Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanch, there were a few other couples who attended the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1) in New York City.

Eddie Redmayne & Hannah Bagshawe: While they may not have fully embraced the theme like Pharrell and Helen, Eddie and Hannah still made for a pretty partnership in Prada. The deep jewel-toned hue of her amethyst gown, awash in the label’s signature embellishment, was striking against his midnight-navy suit that was precision-tailored with just the right amount of quirk in its oversized buttons.

Armie Hammer & Elizabeth Chambers Hammer: Coordinating in all black, both Armie and Elizabeth wore Ralph Lauren ensembles. However, no offense to Armie, no one was looking at his monochromatic moment that was nothing if not handsomely sleek. But, with her sheer lace gown, Elizabeth commanded attention—even if we’ve seen this leggy look done countless times over. Its ubiquity has cancelled out any hope of the avant-garde, although a more sculptural, origami-style ’do might have helped inch this ensemble closer to the night’s theme.

Rami Malek In Dior Homme – ‘Buster’s Mal Heart’ Tribeca Film Festival Premiere

Rami Malek attended the ‘Buster’s Mal Heart’ premiere during 2017 Tribeca Film Festival on Thursday (April 26) in New York City where he once again donned Dior.

The relationship between Malek and Dior Homme has been fruitful one, with the majority of Rami’s major red carpet moments coming from Dior, plus of course he officially joined the Dior Homme family when he was chosen as the face of the brand earlier this year.

As you would expect, this was a sleek, modern look, but it’s the faint military vibe imbued into this look via the ribbed stripes is what I really love – much like any twist on a classic suit.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Between the 2017 Time 100 Gala in New York City, to a Hollywood premiere and a special screening in London, there were plenty of reasons for the men to be out in force on Tuesday (April 25).

Riz Ahmed: I applaud Riz for stepping outside the navy and black box to wear this camel Prada Spring 2017 suit—and to wear it so well—at the Time 100 Gala. However, I do question the black dress shirt and brown loafers.

Orlando Bloom: At a special screening of ‘Unlocked’ in London, the actor was casually sharp in a Dior Homme blue suit enhanced by the patterned shirt underneath that precluded the need for a tie.

Ryan Reynolds: Also at the Time 100 Gala, Ryan went for a more classic route in a Brunello Cucinelli navy tux that was handsomely polished for the occasion.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

A few men showed their style colours recently on the red carpet. Here, a look at what they wore.

Dan Stevens: Dan was as dapper as could be in a sharp Bottega Veneta patterned suit with Christian Louboutin ‘Greggo’ shoes at the ‘Permission’ premiere at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival in NYC on Saturday (April 22), where he joined Rebecca Hall. I love the mod movement that the graphic patterning of his suit provided.

Channing Tatum: With Jenna Dewan-Tatum close by, Channing also provided his own brand of eye candy in his version of a red-hot three-piece suit at the grand opening of ‘Magic Mike Live Las Vegas’ on Friday (April 21). The colour is one thing, but I think I would have found more affection for the look had the strangely dated, confetti tie been replaced.

Ben Affleck: The actor attended the first annual AutFest International Film Festival on Sunday (April 23) in Orange, California. While the rich teal-blue hue had potential, this Dolce & Gabbana three-piece suit seemed a bit forced. I blame the high silhouette of the vest and the tie that fell askance. Christian Louboutin ‘Greggo’ shoes rounded out the look.

Zoe Saldana In Prabal Gurung & Chris Pratt In Tom Ford – Hollywood Walk of Fame Star Ceremony

Zoe Saldana joined co-star Chris Pratt for his Hollywood Walk of Fame Star Ceremony on Friday (April 21) in California, following a press conference for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’.

The actress was once again on top form wearing a Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2017 dress defined by striking colour-block panels for an innately directional finish.

Impactful, easy and effortlessly styled with Rupert Sanderson ‘Rayelle’ sandals, this is why we continue to love Zoe’s style.

Chris Pratt was not to be ignored. The actor wore a Tom Ford Windsor three-piece windowpane suit which was elegantly tailored for a grandiose but composed appeal.
