Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

There were a number of men who made an impression at the 2017 BET Awards in LA. But, away from that event, there were more fellows who have made an impression on the red carpet.

Chadwick Boseman: First up, Chadwick scored a style slam dunk at the 2017 NBA Awards on Monday (June 26) in New York City. This Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2017 striped suit was a seasonal, refreshing alternative to the standard-issue colours of black, navy, and charcoal. Plus, I love that he skipped the tie on this sleek dress shirt.

Filipe Valle Costa: At the premiere of FX’s ‘Snowfall,’ on Monday (June 26) in LA, Filipe looked sharp in a David Hart Fall 2017 suit styled with Cesare Pacciotti shoes and a Rolex timepiece. The festive plaid did seem a bit heavy, but he lightened the mood with his unbuttoned, white dress shirt.

Miles Brown: I’m not sure it could get any more adorable than Miles who was also at the 2017 NBA Awards. With his custom TO Collection suit, paired with Florsheim shoes, he gets major style points. He wears bold plaid and a bow tie better than men three times his age.

Chloe Bridges In Diane von Furstenberg & Adam DeVine In Tommy Hilfiger – 2017 NBA Awards

Chloe Bridges and Adam DeVine were a picture perfect couple as they attended the 2017 NBA Awards on Monday (June 26) in New York.

Chloe Bridges: The actress looked pretty in a pale blue Diane von Furstenberg Spring 2017 dress featuring silk and chiffon fabrics bringing a softness and sense of movement to this look. This was echoed in Chloe’s tumbling loose curls. I’m unsure about the gold sandals, however, as they feel a bit tad nondescript. Silver or grey may have been a better option here.

Adam DeVine: It looks like Adam has erred on the side of caution with this classic Tommy Hilfiger suit and sneaker combo. The skinny black tie feels a touch juvenile, however, and I would have liked to have seen something a little less traditional. The actor looks smart and polished but a little risk-taking would be appreciated.

2017 BET Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

The guys at the 2017 BET Awards were not to leave it to the girls for all the head-turning sartorial extravaganzas, as they delivered plenty of their own on Sunday (June 25) in LA.

Gucci Mane: Gucci Mane played the name game and donned a Gucci Fall 2016 sky-blue suit embellished with a sword-through-the-heart motif. A few layers of additional bling were to be expected with diamond cross pendants, rings, and bracelets. DJ Khaled’s baby son, Asahd, gave Gucci a run for his money though, as he wore a mini version of the same suit—sans bling—for the ultimate twinning moment.

French Montana: We’ve seen the pyjama trend on the red carpet, but French was all about the robe life in this Gucci Spring 2017 piece that was hyper-decorated in a bizarre fusion of Asiatic embroideries and Donald Duck. Presented over a white dress shirt, distressed denim and gold chains, it really did seem like he failed to remove his dressing gown before leaving home.

Demetrius Shipp Jr.: A fine vision in aubergine, Demetrius put the sillier sartorial statements to shame in this Ermenegildo Zegna monochromatic suit that he suavely styled with black slipper shoes.

Dior Homme Spring 2018 Show

Dior-clad fellas (and one femme!) collected together at the Dior Homme Spring 2018 show held during Paris Fashion Week on Saturday (June 24).

Jamie Bell: Handsomely dressed in a Dior Homme navy suit, Jamie let the streamlined nature of his ensemble do the talking with black Dior derbies to complete the dashing yet simple look.

Kate Mara: Maintaining a similarly uncomplicated edge, Kate donned a Dior little white dress that put up plenty of sweet simplicity in its fit-and-flare silhouette. Dior black ‘J’Adior’ slingbacks, Dior ‘Tribale’ earrings, and a Dior ‘I Feel Blue’ printed and embroidered clutch only enhanced its charm.

Rami Malek: The white and orange stitching provided just the right bit of quirky edge for this Dior Homme black suit, sportily accessorised with black Dior sneakers and ‘Dior Tailoring’ sunglasses. It fit Rami’s style personality perfectly.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Keeping the red carpet hot, a few men were out and about on the promo circuit this past week.

Jamie Foxx: The actor was at the ‘Baby Driver’ London premiere on Wednesday (June 21), joining Eiza Gonzalez and Lily James at the event. There would be no denying his suave navy suit, worn in his effortlessly cool manner, as he carried the ironically named Privé Revaux ‘The Underdog’ shades—he is no underdog here.

Chadwick Boseman: For the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ show on Wednesday (June 21), Chadwick suited up in a Burberry Tailoring ensemble while Jimmy tried to get him to spill details on the ‘Avengers’ movie. The chambray-inspired look could have used a similar summer freshness in the tie, but all in all, he looked sharp.

Ansel Elgort: Also at the ‘Baby Driver’ London premiere, Ansel gave Jamie a run for his money in an impeccable Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2017 suit that featured the subtle, sophisticated touch of tonal piping at the lapels. Oxford lace-up shoes completed the sleekly urbane look.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

A few men have been out and about lately at the 57th Monte Carlo TV Festival, all striking quite the fine profiles as they made the red carpet rounds.

Matt Bomer: ‘The Last Tycoon’ actor cut a thoroughly handsome profile in an Ermenegildo Zegna Couture tuxedo styled with glossy Tod’s loafers on day 3 of the festival on Sunday (June 18). Wearing the shoes without socks created a suavely relaxed finish, perfectly suiting of his Monaco surroundings.

Justin Hartley: For day 2 of the festival on Saturday (June 17), the ‘This Is Us’ star looked sharp in a Strong Suit ensemble that was statement-making in its exploded plaid print yet easygoing in mood when styled without a tie.

Jussie Smollett: I love the rich texture and smart sheen of this Bottega Veneta Fall 2017 suit, which he wore so effortlessly with a casually unbuttoned white dress shirt and polished Cesare Paciotti shoes at the festival’s opening ceremony on Friday (June 16).
