2017 ESPYS Red Carpet Roundup

There were many other stars from sport and screen at the 2017 ESPYS on Wednesday (July 12) in LA.

Lindsey Vonn: Putting on the glitz with an embellished LBD, the Olympic skier donned a Monique Lhuillier fringed mini paired with Sophia Webster ‘Rosalind’ sandals. However, ice skates would seem almost just as suitable, as the frock would also make for quite the va-va-voom figure skating costume.

Russell Wilson: The football pro cut a dapper profile in a luxe Tom Ford ensemble, proving that the summer velvet trend is not exclusive to the female set.

Zosia Mamet: Despite her favoured towering platform shoes, Zosia duly impressed me in this Miu Miu red ruffle dress, which saw her take baby steps towards a more sophisticated style. The frosted lip also needed an upgrade, and the necklaces were unnecessary, but these were baby steps, after all.

‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 7 Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

In addition to Sophie Turner and Rose Leslie, there were a number of other stars in attendance at the ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 7 premiere on Wednesday (July 12) in LA.

Maisie Williams: The starlet channeled mature allure in a Milly slip dress that stood out for its luscious green hue, which she reflected in her eye makeup. By styling the look with black accessories along with Maria Black jewelry, she added a tougher edge.

Kit Harington: Handsome as ever, Kit wore a monochromatic Dolce & Gabbana ensemble that had no chance of being one-note with the decoratively embossed blazer, contrast lapels, and slippers that gave the look a regal, off-duty flair.

Nathalie Emmanuel: Nathalie took the opportunity to walk a more progressive line with this Vivienne Westwood dress that was not only recognizable in the designer’s signature silhouette but also for having abstracted visions of her face printed across it. I love her choice of red lip and silver Sophia Webster ‘Lilico’ embellished shoes as they provided a bold finish without overcooking the oddity of the frock.

Ansel Elgort In Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci – ‘Baby Driver’ Sydney Premiere

Ansel Elgort joined Lily James for the premiere of ‘Baby Driver’ in Sydney, Australia on Wednesday (July 12).

Offering up a different variation on monochromatic suiting, the actor was dressed in a Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci Spring 2017 suit with red accent collar lapels and wide tuxedo stripes down the pants.

Fully committed to the look, he even wore red socks.

While Ansel can dress with the best in standard formal menswear, I love that he is not one to shy away from exploring alternate sartorial views that present interesting variations on the norm.

Conor McGregor In David August – Floyd Mayweather Jr. v Conor McGregor World Press Tour

The press conference for the Floyd Mayweather Jr. v Conor McGregor boxing match, held at the Staples Center on Tuesday (July 11), was always going to be a spicy affair with the usual trash talking, but Conor McGregor decided to take things further.

His custom made three-piece pinstripe David August suit gives off the impression of a dapper gent, but the woven navy wool fabric has a repeat pattern of the words ‘F**K YOU’ (see the close up here) creating an optical illusion of traditional pinstripes from afar.

Paired with custom crisp white shirt, pink tie and silk polka dot navy pocket square, the Irish mixed martial artist even stopped the press conference having seen himself on the big screen to say, “How’s this suit look? It’s a cracker”.

CEO David August Heil said, “Conor has been a longtime client and friend of ours and we’re deeply honored to be a part of this epic, historic story as it unfolds. With a force in sports and fashion like Conor, it makes our job exciting to create unique looks that enhances his natural confidence and power. He’s a disrupter in everything he does and we’re intoxicated by his passion and drive.”

Antonella Roccuzzo weds Lionel Messi in Rosa Clará

On Friday (June 30), wedding bells were ringing for Barcelona footballer Lionel Messi and his childhood sweetheart Antonella Roccuzzo, who were married in the groom’s hometown of Rosario, Argentina.

Lionel’s Barcelona sports ties weren’t the only bit of Spain in the ceremony, as the bride wore a mermaid-style gown with a plunging, heart-shaped neckline from Spanish designer, Rosa Clará.

With allover delicate lace-embroidered flowers and a sweeping train, it merged sweetness with a more seductive quality.

As for the groom, he was dapper in a Giorgio Armani Made to Measure three-piece tuxedo in a rich, dark grey colour enlivened by a silver tie.

Lionel and Antonella’s sons, Thiago and Matteo, each took after their father in their Armani Junior custom-made, three-piece suits.

Tommy Dorfman FROW at Spring 2018 Menswear Fashion Week

Tommy Dorfman has been a noticeable fixture on the front row at Spring 2018 Menswear Fashion Week in Milan and Paris, attending a trio of shows where the young actor looked as if he could have stepped straight from the runway himself.

Fendi show: At Fendi, he paid homage to the brand with a schoolboy-meets-sporty edge. Successfully wearing this mauve zipper sweater, emblazoned with racing stripes, alongside army-green pinstripe trousers was no small feat. But, he does so incredibly seamlessly. I love the additional quirk of the ‘Green’ knapsack, with athletic shoes rounding out the look.

Cerruti show: Letting his shirt do the talking at Cerruti on Friday (June 23), this tee-and-shorts number got a style-forward upgrade with the statement printed backpack and flatform footwear that made menswear sandals seem quite alright—good, even.

Balmain show: Adding knee-high socks to a pair of quilted, buckle sandals, Tommy continued to push the directional envelope at Balmain the next day, Saturday (June 24). Of course, it was his hyper-embellished, studded and mesh tunic dress that commanded much of the attention. Yet, he wore it with a spirit of easy nonchalance.
