Walter Steiger vs. Topshop

Walter Steiger’s signature curved heel ‘Oscar’ ankle boots have been worn by the likes of Victoria Beckham, Anna Dello Russo and Linsday Lohan.

Due to celebrities making this these heels so popular that they instantly sold-out, Topshop have created their own version.

Their ‘Pisa’ banana- heeled platforms have the same curved heels, the same suede fabric and the same elasticated side panel.

The Walter Steiger boots would’ve set you back $950, but the Topshop version are available from Topshop US for $245 and Topshop International for £120.

These heels shoes are such a simple design, but it’s the heel which that makes them stand out.

Miu Miu vs. Mango

Whilst browsing the Mango Fall 2011 Look Book one dress really stood out from all the others.

It was the terracotta floral print dress because it instantly reminded me a similar dress presented by Miu Miu during their Fall 2011 collection.

Mango has clearly been inspired by Miu Miu despite the fact that the material and length are different, plus the Miu Miu dress has sequin embellishments and accentuated shoulders.

Once in store the Mango dress will cost $69.90/€44.95/£42.90.

The Miu Miu dress, which Kate Moss wore on the cover of Vogue UK’s August 2011 edition, is available from Net-A-Porter US for $4,105 and
Net-A-Porter International for £2,480 /€2,860.

Prada vs. ASOS

The Prada Spring 2011 collection continues to be the most loved by the high-street.

First Topshop, now ASOS have created Prada-esqe stripes at a more affordable price.

The Prada orange, black pink striped dress inspired the ASOS stripe fishtail pencil skirt.

The flounced hem and colour scheme are the same, but the prices are worlds apart.

Prada vs. Topshop

It should come as no surprise that one of the most photographed collections for Spring 2011, would be a source of inspiration for other brands.

Topshop has been inspired by Prada’s striped skirt, to produce a similar version at a much lower price.

With stripes and colour-blocking a big trend this season, we’ve spotted Diane Kruger, Lily Allen, Hailee Steinfeld and Street-Style photographer Tamu McPherson in Prada stripes.

The fuchsia and navy striped skirt from Topshop is true to Prada’s design. The stripes appear to be the same size with the fit hitting slightly below the knee of Topshop’s version.

The Prada skirt is approx £395, but TopShop’s skirt is a wallet friendly $66 from Tophop US or £32 from Topshop International.

Prada’s Spring 2011 collection is so hot right now that it has graced 15 covers so far worldwide.

Miu Miu vs Topshop

For Spring, Miu Miu invites us to add an adorable nautical touch to our spring and summer attire with these gorgeous navy and white patent leather sandals.

The platform sandals have an ankle strap with gold toned side buckle closures.

Topshop have produced a very similar version which can be found on Topshop US and Topshop International.

The cross-over platform sandals have black, camel and white stripes with an elasticated ankle strap.

Both heels would make a welcome addition to our closet, but which do you prefer?

Erdem vs. Topshop

Red continues to be a hot colour for Spring.

Erdem presented a covetable elegant red lace dress during their Spring 2011 presentation.

The dress has gathered pleats from wide neckline through to the bodice, half sleeves with a scalloped trim, soft gathering at skirt and a scalloped hemline.

Michelle Williams wore this dress back in October for her “Blue Valentine” London Premiere.

The dress has been used for inspiration by Topshop as they have a very similar version on their virtual shelves.

The Erdem version would have set you back £1,960 before it sold out, but the Topshop version is still for sale on Topshop International for £48 and Topshop US for $96.
