Celebrities Love…Gingham

Celebrities Love Gingham
The most effective way to check the box on breezy seasonal style is with the pattern of the summer—gingham. The classic print stormed the Spring 2015 runways last September, with designers fully embracing its sweet and sexy charms.

It has since become a celebrity favourite, with starlets showing the many sides of the grid—and, as it turns out, gingham is not just a one-trick pony.

Vanessa Hudgens embodied the classic, ladylike allure of the black-and-white print in a full-skirted Dolce & Gabbana dress that nodded to a vintage flair.

Likewise, Lizzy Caplan wore a Lela Rose frock that featured the timeless pattern in a feminine silhouette contrasted with an on-trend high-low hemline.

Meanwhile, I loved seeing Amal Clooney step outside of the girly gingham tradition in a Tome sleeveless trench coat with an exploded checquered pattern, which she paired with distressed denim and shoe boots for the ultimate in edgy, elegant allure.

Adorably flaunting gingham’s inherent playfulness, Emmy Rossum dressed in a girlish Aqua frock that she sophisticatedly paired with raffia Paul Andrew pumps.

Oozing with an aura of retro refinement, Freida Pinto impressed in a green micro-gingham Michael Kors dress that was a like a breath of fresh air, offering an ultra-chic new lease on life for the pattern.

Anne Hathaway returned to tradition in an all-American, sporty-glam Michael Kors printed skirt and crop top for her recent outing.

Do these many renditions of the almighty gingham have you convinced?

Celebrities Love…Hunter Boots

Celebrities Love Hunter Boots

Glastonbury Music Festival took place this weekend at Worthy Farm in Somerset, England with a heady lineup of musical talent, but the other star of the show went by the name of Hunter—as appearances of Hunter boots were seen at every turn.

The British heritage brand is known for its original, immediately recognizable boot, was a favourite among celebrities. No wonder, as it has proved a sturdy, signature companion to any festival-worthy ensemble, especially amidst the muddy conditions that Glastonbury presented.

Now very much an icon at the festival, the rain boot was spotted on everyone from Alexa Chung, who showed how her Hunter Original Sandhurst boots can be worn with even the daintiest of dresses. Daisy Lowe also decided to shun the expected fringing and cut-off shorts for a khaki Topshop jumpsuit with a few buttons popped for good measure.

When it came to Bradley Cooper he opted for function, yet his look was so cleverly co-ordinated to his Hunter boots.

These were just a trio of Hunter clad stars. Other celebs such as Poppy Delevingne, Pixie Geldof, Suki Waterhouse and many more were spotted in Hunter boots during Glastonbury this weekend.

Celebrities Love…Bionda Castana ‘Zoe’ Sandals

Celebrities Love Bionda Castana 'Zoe' Sandals
The new bestie among the celebrity set goes by the name of Zoe. And she’s shiny, sassy, and laser-sharp—clearly, everything a starlet needs to have by her side.

A constant companion to a range of ensembles, the Bionda Castana ‘Zoe’ sandals are having a moment in the spotlight thanks to their striking, silver metallic style and geometric laser-cut straps.

While the stacked platform structure pays homage to the swinging ’70s, the retro mood is balanced by a mod flair that provides a spirited edge to any look.

Last month, Lady Gaga was spotted out in New York City wearing her pair of Zoes, which added a fun zing to her black-and-white outfit.

Brittany Snow’s sparkling silver beaded jumpsuit, seen at the CMT Awards last week, received a sprightly finishing touch with the flash of her silver sandals.

And, like Lady Gaga, Jessica Alba took her street style to the next level in New York City wearing the same ‘Zoe’ sandals, which only further elevated her scalloped white Giambattista Valli dress and denim jacket to even more perfect proportions.

Clearly, everyone needs a friend like Zoe.

Urban warriors have a new seductive weapon to brandish on the red carpet, strapping their feet into the Stuart Weitzman ‘LegWrap’ sandal.

A fresh take on the gladiator trend, it’s a natural fit for the trendsetting starlet set who have added this come-hither shoe to their style arsenal.

More delicately elegant than the standard strappy pair with wraparound leather lace-up detailing that entwines the leg with a sense of demure allure, the sandal has been spotted on the likes of Emma Roberts, Elizabeth Banks, and Sophia Bush.

Available in a variety of colours, including versions of denim, nude, red, and yellow, the black hue is perhaps the most versatile and ubiquitous.

The secret of this shoe is in its transformative power, injecting a feminine, sexy-chic punch into everything from Emma’s minimal black frock to Elizabeth’s lacy LBD and Sophia’s flowy floral entrance.

Celebrities Love Frame Denim Le High Flare Denim Overalls

The mighty dungarees have been making a comeback for awhile, but the latest object of affection among street-style-savvy stars is Frame Denim’s ‘Le High Flare’ denim overalls.

Putting a retro-cool twist on the country-chic trend, this dark denim pair features classic ’70s details such as a high-rise waist, defined patch pockets, and—of course—flared legs.

Poppy Delevingne, Kate Bosworth, and Alessandra Ambrosio are just a few of the beauties who have rocked these fitted overalls, giving us all a lesson in how to bring the sexy to this work-wear staple.

I love Poppy’s sultry tomboy look, which is elevated by her red lip and white sneakers. Kate goes chic and sporty with her tortoiseshell frames and neutral suede accessories. And, we already know Alessandra loves a good mini-bell-bottom, and here she manages to put a boho spin on her pair with an off-the-shoulder top.
