Celebrities Love…House of CB

Celebrities Love House of CB 2

A storm of CB dolls have been none too shy to strut out their love affair with the House of CB.

Seductively chic, the London-based label is a surefire way to make an entrance, checking all the boxes on sexy, body-con styling—skin-baring slits, strategic cutouts, deep necklines, and bandage silhouettes are the M.O. at this house.

So it comes as no surprise that the models and PYTs among the celebrity set are especially enamoured by the designs.

Jennifer Lopez found plenty of favour in House of CB’s second-skin mini while Vanessa Hudgens channeled an alluring vamp in a black lace gown. Keke Palmer took the plunge in a bodysuit and slit-to-there skirt and Joan Smalls showed off her model form in a daring, peekaboo LBD.

The uncompromisingly sultry, attention-grabbing quality of the brand is not lost on some of its biggest fans, Kylie Jenner and Gigi Hadid.

From bandage minis and figure-flaunting two-piece statements to slit-to-there dresses, these girls have rocked to the beat of the House of CB, proving that monochromatic colour palettes and modishly minimalistic designs can retain plenty of striking, look-at-her cred.

Other fans of the brand include Kim Kardashian and Gigi’s mother, Yolanda Foster.

Celebrities Love…Tuxedo Dressing

Celebrities Love Tuxedo Inspiration

Ever since Yves Saint Laurent’s iconic ‘le smoking’ entered the sartorial scene in the ’60s, the women’s tuxedo has captivated fashion darlings with its androgynous implications and sultry, structured appeal.

Now a women’s wear classic, the tux shows no signs of exiting the style vocabulary with the celebrity set embracing it at every turn. Just recently, a flush of starlets have debuted new reinterpretations of the tux-inspired silhouette, proving it’s not solely relegated to the traditional suit.

Gabrielle Union combined two trends—the tux and transparency—and made an instantly good impression with her Akris Fall 2015 tuxedo-style, side-slit dress with sheer detailing that added a seductive softness to the tailored sleekness of the look.

Another spin on the suit came with Nina Dobrev’s Diane Von Furstenberg Fall 2015 tuxedo romper, where she amped up the charm meter by pairing it with a confetti-print blouse for a fun, youthful effect.

As for Sophia Bush, she showed just how sexy a suit can be by donning a tuxedo mini dress featuring a plunge neckline anchored by satin lapels. The result was nothing short of sophisticated glamour mixed with contemporary edge.

Step aside, guys. These tuxes are made for the girls.

Celebrities Love…Culottes

Celebrities Love Culottes

The culottes club is rapidly growing in membership, adding new converts nearly every day who are strutting out chic looks in praise of the pants.

An underlying trend on the scene for more than a year, it’s safe to say that the voluminous, wide-legged trousers have found their footing amongst a flock of style darlings who have been none too shy in taking them for a spin.

Something of an acquired taste for many, culottes are all about the right proportions and sharp, clean tailoring, which is worth its weight in gold when it comes to this modern version of a midi.

Even bright magenta culottes can achieve sophisticated standards, as Keke Palmer shows in her Solace London ensemble, where she wears the high-waisted, structured pants with a simple cropped top for a look that’s packed with panache.

Playing with pattern instead of colour, Ashley Madekwe wore a Self-Portrait pair that boasted slightly less volume but no less boldness in the checquerboard print and the cutout, asymmetrical top.

An even breezier rendition, Alicia Vikander’s Rosetta Getty look displayed the ultimate in simple, feminine elegance—with a mod edge.

Celebrities Love Max Mara's Whitney Bag

Architecture, art, and fashion frequently collide, and such fusion is quite literally the case in the latest celebrity handbag crush.

The Max Mara ‘Whitney’ top handle tote is nothing short of museum quality, serving as not only arm candy but also arm architecture. Max Mara teamed with the Renzo Piano Building Workshop to create the bag that is directly inspired by the sleek, sophisticated design of the new Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City.

The formal, structured piece, which reflects the modern, ribbed museum building, still easily transitions from cocktail party to casual off-duty style for the utmost versatility. Sarah Jessica Parker, Gigi Hadid, and Karlie Kloss have all been spotted carrying the bag, which carves out a signature, appropriate niche amongst both stiletto and sneaker ensembles.

The ‘Whitney’ is currently available in three colours including black, tan, and bordeaux, plus what was an exclusive collector’s limited-edition, light blue-grey hue that likewise mirrored the museum’s façade.
