Celebrities Love…Tweed

As we move deeper into fall, celebs are falling in love with a classic winter staple, tweed.

Tweed isn’t just for business suits or stuffy office attire.

Both on the red carpet and whilst off duty, celebs are using tweed as part of their winter look as it ensures warmth, and the textures allow for all sorts of interesting silhouettes.

If you’re thinking tweed is old fashioned, then mix tweed with leather for a modern edge, or add statement accessories for the same modernizing effect.

You can keep the look simple like Freida Pinto. Colourful tweed fabrics are great adding some pizzazz to your look like Hailee Steinfeld and Jennifer Hudson, or you can go classic black and add funky wedges like Kate Bosworth.

If you’re still not a fan of wearing tweed, then take on the trend via chic accessories such at the Valentino bow front heels or an Alexander McQueen clutch.

Hollywood Brings Back The Beret

Granted, we saw a few different variations of the beret on the Fall 2011 runways—worn traditionally at Sophie Theallet, worn on the forehead at Vena Cava, worn with a chinstrap at Marc Jacobs—but we didn’t expect the trend to spread through Hollywood like wildfire.

We love it when we’re pleasantly surprised.

And it’s not the beret in general, it’s this beret in specific, as Tika Sumpter, Hilary Duff, Katy Perry, Kourtney Kardashian, and Rachel Zoe have all been recently spotted sporting the ultra chic Evelyn Beret by Eugenia Kim.

Available in four colors—charcoal, gray, taupe, cream—this hand-knitted baby alpaca leopard-print beret is perfect for masking a bad hair day, or keeping the brisk wind at bay.

We’re partial to the taupe—and you?

Celebrities Love….Fall Coats

If you’re like me, you will still have the same boots and those £19.99 Zara turtlenecks in several colours from last year that will still see you through this winter.

If so, a new coat is the easiest way to revive your winter wardrobe this season.

The perfect coat can be the great finishing touch to any look.

This season, why not try a quirky cape? Add a stand-out colour to your closet like Alison Brie’s Kate Spade ‘Carlyle Patrice’ raspberry coat or Rihanna’s Acne ‘Siri’ mustard coat.

Go long like Gwen Stefani who recently wore this A.L.C. hooded duffle coat or invest in a classic coat like Pixie Geldorf which should stand you in good stead for a few seasons.

What style are you going to be cosying up to, to avoid the winter freeze?

Celebrities Love…Thigh-High Boots

It’s that time of year when we are all stocking up on our winter staples which will get us through the next five months.

High on that list are boots.

Every year I want to invest in a pair of thigh-high boots, or hooker boots as my sister calls them, but I always chicken out.

There are two ways to wear these boots.

For the less overtly sexy route, we need to follow Kourtney Kardashian and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Kourtney’s look may have a lot going on, but she opted for low-heeled thigh-high Chanel boots whilst Rosie wore less shiny, slouchy suede boots.

The overtly sexy route was demonstrated by Ciara as she left ‘Dan Tanas’ restaurant in LA last night.

Leather thigh-high Louboutin boots + Givenchy tunic + lots of skin on display = tacky.

Celebrities Love…A Dash Of Mustard

Mustard is known as a popular condiment to hamburgers, and hot dogs.

Now it’s the perfect way to spice up your look.

As I look out my window I can already see leaves turning from green to oranges and yellows.

Many designers embodied the spirit of seasonal change by adding mustard yellow coloured pieces to their collections.

Peter Som, Akris, Isaac Mizrahi, Aquilano.Rimondi, Giambattista Valli, Christian Dior, Hermes and The Row sent models down the runway in this rich hue.

Mustard is the perfect way to add a bright colour to your outfit, but if the colour doesn’t quite suit your skin-tone, then try adding a mustard clutch or shoes to your outfit.

The most recent stars to fall in love with this bold colour include Frankie Sandford who used her mustard blazer to add a dash of colour to her blue ensemble on a cold day in London.

Solange Knowles wore J. Crew mustard pants with her colour-block INC top, and Rihanna was spotted in London wearing an Acne Siri coat from the Fall 2011 collection.

Here are 3 mustard looks to get you on-trend.

Net-A-Porter US $200 & Net-A-Porter International £195

Celebrities Love…Current/Elliott Leopard Stiletto Jeans

It seems like I’m not the only one who loves leopard print.

Celebrities can’t get enough of these Current/Elliott ‘Stiletto’ leopard print jeans which come in a camel and grey colour.

Mandy Moore, Danielle Lineker, Nicky Hilton and Katie Holmes used the jeans to infuse a little feline chic to their looks.

It appears the key to pulling off this look is to keep everything else solid, so it doesn’t clash with the leopard print.

Other celebs spotted in these jeans include Emily Blunt, Sarah Jessica Parker and Isla Fisher who all opted for the grey version.

If I was to purchase these jeans I would definitely get the grey version.

Which do you prefer?

You can buy the camel leopard print jeans from Net-A-Porter US, Net-A-Porter International, Matches Fashion, Revolve Clothing and farfetch.com

The grey version can be purchased from Net-A-Porter US, and Matches Fashion.

Celebrities Love To ‘Man Up’

Ever since Annie Hall burst onto the silver screen masculine clothing has been a staple in women’s fashion.

Recently stars have been taking inspiration from the icon to showcase their own masculine looks on the red carpet.

Diane Kruger reignited the trend at the InStyle Summer Soiree wearing her Jason Wu look.

I loved her fresh approach to this look as she paired a navy tuxedo jacket with black shorts and Jason W accessories which included her favourite accessory; a black bow.

Last week Anne Hathaway suited up in Balmain opting for light coloured sunglasses to lighten the mood of her monochromatic look.

On Saturday Rachel Bilson was spotted leaving her home sporting a similar short set style to Diane with a ribbon bow tie and Giuseppe Zanotti ankle strap heels.
