Celebrities Love M2Malletier Bags

Amid the crush of LVs, Chanels, Guccis and Ferragamos found on the arms of starlets everywhere is a bold newcomer on the scene. Modish mavens are clutching M2Malletier handbags, making them one of the hottest new accessories that have swiftly vaulted from near anonymity to celeb status.

Sleek meets street in these satchels, which are instantly recognizable for their architectural quality and geometric lines, not to mention the true hallmark of the label—its distinctive hardware. The shiny gold, silver or onyx bar handles on each design were originally inspired by medieval tools and armor.

The duo behind the wonder bags, Melissa Losada and Marcela Velez, envisioned a brand that preserved their Colombian roots, while infusing a sense of sophistication and spontaneity in the trend-forward designs.

With their classic yet avant-garde angles, it’s no wonder celebrities are swooping up multiple M2Malletiers, including the popular ‘La Fleur Du Mal’ model along with the ‘Fabricca,’ ‘Amor Fati’ and ‘La Collectioneuse.’ Luxe materials and progressive colours ranging from rich coral to royal purple and light avocado, along with timeless shades of black, camel, cream and dove-grey, also make a M2Malletier a must-have.

Emma Watson, Jessica Alba, Eva Mendes, Cate Blanchett, Solange Knowles, Kate Hudson and Taylor Swift are just a few of the bold names carrying the neat little purse that effortlessly transitions from edgy ensembles to girly, flirty looks and more formal entrances.

Celebrities Love Denim Overalls

Denim overalls are making a comeback. Even New York magazine thinks so, as cover girl Elisabeth Moss was decked out in them.

Perhaps inspired by the DKNY, Honor Among Thieves and Ralph Lauren Spring 2014 runways, Selena Gomez, Diane Kruger, Sarah Jessica Parker and Julianne Hough are all opting for the new summer staple, which is easy, relaxed and cool.

Selena paired her Black Orchid distressed overalls with a cute floral bandeau, a white Versace bag and Chelsea Paris heels.

Diane’s effortless look was styled with a simple tank and given a high-end spin with Chanel dual-colour flats.

SJP added shades of grey to her Blank NYC overalls, while Julianne Hough layered up her Wildfox Couture ‘Chloe’ overalls, accessorizing with ShoeMint flats, AM Eyewear sunglasses, and a Cynthia Vincent bag.

All these ladies leaned towards the casual side but there are also ways to add a dash of smart sophistication to the look, with a tailored blazer and a pair of sexy heels.

For an edgier take, don’t be afraid to layer over just a crop top.

Will you be donning denim overalls this spring, or this lifetime?

Celebrities Love Sheer HemsThe legs have it—at least when it comes to the latest trend in transparency . We’ve seen the see-through gowns and the peek-a-boo paneling that have permeated many a red carpet. But, now, specifically sheer hemlines are having their own moment, too, with starlets already taking cues from the Spring 2014 runways.

When applied correctly, this diaphanous design detail adds a modern edge to an otherwise classic dress. The see-through hem whispers of both sultriness and sophistication, adding a measure of chic intrigue to a starlet’s statement look.

At the Rome Film Festival, Rooney Mara cut things short with her delicate, yet structured white Balenciaga design. Take away the more elegant organza overlay, and this would have been a way-too-short mini.

Meta Golding edged it up at ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Madrid premiere, donning a laser-cut leather Loewe frock that not only featured a sheer hem, but extended the trend to the sleeves and back.

Like Rooney, Amy Adams wore a shorter sheer hemline that was tacked onto her monochromatic David Koma dress at the ‘American Hustle’ L.A. screening.

As for ‘Downton Abbey’ actress Laura Carmichael, she debuted a more demure version of the trend with her Richard Nicoll midnight-blue dress that was just subtly sheer at the bottom.

Sheer genius, or already sick of see-through?

Christmas Jumpers

Since even before seeing Colin Firth as Mark Darcy wearing a Christmas jumper in ‘Bridget Jones’, Christmas isn’t Christmas unless I’m wearing a novelty jumper.

Once seen as a naff gift from your gran, it seems like everyone – from Markus Lupfer and 3.1 Phillip Lim, to Tibi, Topshop and New Look – is doing their bit to make the Christmas jumper a fashion statement.

Whether it’s a Fair Isle knit, or a reindeer-, Santa-, gingerbread-man- or snowflake-emblazoned sweater, spread some seasonal cheer with a knitted festive favourite.

Celebrities Love Coach's 'The Borough' BagThe latest accessory on the celebrity set’s arms has big shoes to fill. Inspired by New York City and its five boroughs, Coach’s ‘The Borough’ bag delivers on its lofty Big Apple-influenced name. As iconic as the place it represents, the sleekly versatile tote is hot yet oh-so-cool, downtown and uptown, and subtle but sharp.

Jessica Alba recently topped off her sidewalk-chic ensemble with the oxblood-coloured ‘Borough.’ Of course, Sarah Jessica Parker has been carrying this NYC-inspired bag, putting an elegant edge on her modish-mommy, jeans-and-tee look with one in jade green. Lea Michele went for the classic black ‘Borough,’ which only added more punch to her hat, shades and combat boots.

Also making the Coach bag a must-have of the moment is a laundry list of trendsetters, including Karlie Kloss, Poppy Delevingne, Liu Wen, Drew Barrymore and Freida Pinto.

Effortlessly transitioning from day to night, the bag can pump up any street-style look with its richly hued polished calfskin, pebbled leather and leopard varieties, along with large and mini versions.

No wonder everyone’s boasting ‘The Borough’ by their side.
