Thandie Newton was nothing short of perfection on the red carpet this year.

She was fabulous on red carpet wearing Giles at the British Fashion Awards, the next night she was in New York for the Grand Reopening Celebration of the New Museum wearing Calvin Klein, not doubt jet-lagged, but not showing it in her appearance as she was flawless as always.

She is a designers dream, and has not forgotten British designers like, Giles Deacon and Jonathan Saunders, who she regularly wears on the red carpet. I bet they repay her with lots of free clothes.

Some girls get all the luck.

With Max Azria at the helm, Herve Leger had a resurgence on the red carpet in 2007.

Nearly every red carpet event this year had a had a Herve Leger dress on it…celebrities love the tight fitting body-con dresses.

They have been worn to the Golden Globes, MTV Music and Movie Awards, Fashion Rocks, Teen Choice Awards, Maxim Hot 100 party, the Grammy’s, Premiere and many other events.

With Max Azria showing Herve Leger at New York Fashion Week next year, it looks like we will continue to see much more of these dresses in 2008.

The 5.5 inch platform YSL Tribute Pump was the most popular shoe worn by celebrities this year.

We saw them on the red carpet in black leather, black patent, red, and cheetah print.

Shoe expert Shoesense from the popular Shoeblog.com says,

“With its heart-shaped décolletage tying together several important trends of the year (the three Ps: platform, peep-toe, patent), the YSL Tribute pump quickly became a hot, much coveted item. Its strongest selling point, however, was the vertiginous pin-thin heel which, at 5.5 inch high, could offer presence to any pint-sized celebrity out there.

No wonder Christina Aguilera loved them so much!”

We all fell in love.

The Yves Saint Laurent Downtown bag was labeled as a must-have bag for this year. Nearly every celebrity from A list Cate Blanchett to D List Ashlee Simpson carried a YSL bag whether it was a Dowtown, an Uptown or a Tribute.

The PursePage.com says

“The label constantly turns out hits. YSL had the Downtown, followed by the Uptown and now the Overseas. The Overseas hasn’t caught on quite yet,
but the Downtown/Uptown are bona fide hits. Plus, I think YSL bags
reach out to a wide audience. I think Pilati really knows how to
identify with the modern working woman”.
