Brit Marling In Sies Marjan – 2017 CFDA Fashion Awards

Brit Marling channeled her softer side for the 2017 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday (June 5) in New York City.

Enveloped in the romantic drape of a dusty-rose, bi-level Sies Marjan Fall 2017 dress, she conveyed a diaphanous ease of form.

However, this is by no means an easy look to pull off, given the looser silhouette in partnership with the clunky, lug-sole platforms.

I can understand why she opted to wear the quirky shoe, though, as this is the night to be more sartorially experimental. At least it was rendered in the tonal pink shade and not the runway’s brown version.

That said, she pulled it all off quite gracefully.

Diane Kruger In Monse – 2017 CFDA Fashion Awards

From the minute she hit the blue-carpeted scene, Diane Kruger was very much colour-coordinated at the 2017 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday (June 5) in New York City.

I was mesmerized by her Monse Fall 2017 strapless design, not only for its intense electric-cerulean hue but also for the sequined embellishment that looked like golden paint dripping down the dress.

Not only that, Diane’s styling upheld a sense of chic simplicity to further enhance the sublime power of the gown. Only Delfina Delettrez mismatched earrings were necessary to complete the look’s forward edge.

Rowan Blanchard In Rodarte & Yara Shahidi In Emanuel Ungaro – Prom2k17

Yara Shahidi brought a VIP plus-one to her prom—her best friend Rowan Blanchard—who proved to be the perfect date for Prom2k17. Both starlets could easily have been crowned prom queen with their fashion-forward looks that went far beyond the standard prom expectation.

Rowan Blanchard: Rather than sequins and shine, Rowan capitalized on rich texture and embroidery in a Rodarte Spring 2017 dress styled with Rodarte shoes. With a touch of vintage, granny-chic crochet style, she brought a youthful whimsy to this charming outing.

Yara Shahidi: I loved Yara’s Emanuel Ungaro Spring 2017 dress for its entrancing mix of vibrant green shades as well as its beautifully gathered sleeves and plisse layers. Quirky Nicholas Kirkwood shoes quickly brought a spirited, fun finish to the frock.

Zoe Saldana In Roland Mouret – The Navy Seal Foundation Benefit

Zoe Saldana attended the 2017 Los Angeles Evening of Tribute Benefiting the Navy SEAL Foundation on Thursday (June 1) in Beverly Hills, California.

You might be surprised to learn that her top and skirt hailed from the Fall 2017 collection of Roland Mouret, as we normally associate the designer with a more streamlined, precise silhouette with contoured, tailored pieces.

This is a dress meant to be in movement with the flowy, draped effect and the slit at the side. Seen static, the folds through the centre could be perceived a bit overbearing.

Rather than wear the runway’s blue shoe, she donned the Aquazzura ‘Wild Thing’ fringed suede sandal, bringing in the blue hue with her clutch. A sleek ponytail and red lip were the right finish to counterbalance the looser statement.

Nieves Álvarez In Celine, Dsquared2, Silvia Tcherassi & 7 For All Mankind – San Isidro

Nieves Álvarez attended the San Isidro Fair in Madrid, Spain over the weekend.

We may be accustomed to seeing Nieves in scene-stealing red carpet looks, but her street style takes no back seat to fashionable fanfare.

For the Spanish festivities, she first wore a Celine striped shirt with DSquared2 cropped jeans. I loved how the loosely draped cut of the top put a feminine twist on standard shirting. Her accessories really brought the look to life with the pop of a red Louis Vuitton handbag, embellished Elie Saab Spring 2017 sunglasses, and blue Marskinryyppy ankle-wrap heels.

For her second outing, her shoes even more so stole the show, as this Aquazzara pair added a bold splash to the otherwise neutral look. I wasn’t as crazy about the slouchy fit of her Silvia Tcherassi shirt although the asymmetric cold shoulder was a nice touch. White 7 For All Mankind skinny jean, aviator shades, and a Bulgari clutch completed the look.

10th Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Red Carpet Roundup

A number of other summer-ready stars joined Nicole Kidman at the 10th annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on Saturday (June 3) in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Kendall Jenner: Geranium-chic is what Kendall was giving us in her adorable Dolce & Gabbana floral mini styled with a matching purse and scarf—plus a bit of ’70s funk with her white Stuart Weitzman ‘Clingy’ booties lest the mood get too precious.

Tommy Dorfman: I loved seeing this Vince Camuto look from Tommy, as it set a playfully exuberant, style-forward mood without going over the top. Pink shades, pink shoes and soles, and cropped, schoolboy trousers—he sold it to me.

Kate Mara: Innocently feminine with an undercurrent of sheer lace allure, this Burberry frock was light and lovely for the event.
