BellaHeathcote

Bella Heathcote lived up to her name, as she cut a pretty profile when she walked the red carpet at the Met Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

Like ‘Vogue’ editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, the young starlet wore a frock from Chanel’s Spring 2013 Couture runway.

Devoid of spikes and studs, this black-and-white lace dress is not the most punk-rock moment we’ve seen tonight. But the razor-sharp cut of the shoulders added a certain amount of edge.

The Australian actress accessorized with a Chanel black clutch and sparkle from Chanel Fine Jewelry, along with Jimmy Choo ‘Kendall’ sandals. However, I wish she had exchanged her standard, metallic peep-toes for another more adventurous pair—even the lace bootie seen on the runway would have added some funkiness here.

She left the teased and tortured hair for others to flaunt, finishing her prim moment with a polished, side-parted low updo and a light pink lippie.

What do you think? Did Bella deliver too much prettiness or just the right amount of punk?

Jennifer Morrison In Donna Karan Atelier - 2013 Met Gala

‘Once Upon a Time’ actress Jennifer Morrison ventured to the land of punk at the Met Gala tonight at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Her Donna Karan Atelier gown was a fierce statement in sheer black lace that was just shredded enough to look messy and modish at the same time.

The skin-coloured underlining added a sultry nude effect, while the thigh-high ripped slit through the dress packed on even more rebellious flavour.

This dark fairytale was completed with a black Edie Parker clutch, Giuseppe Zanotti platform pumps, and custom jewels by Jherwitt.

Of course, what’s a punk theme without a mohawk? Jennifer delivered our first sprayed and gelled faux-hawk of the evening, then finished her look with a poison-apple-red lip.

Hannah Simone In Tory Burch - Screening And Q&A For Fox's 'New Girl'

Hannah Simone joined her on-screen BFF Zooey Deschanel at a screening and Q&A for their hit TV show, ‘New Girl,’ at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre earlier this week in Hollywood.

The actress flashed a wide smile in her Tory Burch Spring 2013 frock.

The turquoise-and-cerulean printed dress was styled with prairie charm on the runway. But Hannah significantly pared down the bohemian spirit by removing the embellishment and wearing a pair of nude sandals that I barely noticed, so much did they blend in to her bronzed pins.

Rather, it was her ice-blue pedicure that caught my eye. Glossy long waves and a rose pout finished the ensemble.

The look was pretty enough, but minus any accessories and with the dress shortened to above the knee, it all translated as a bit too twee for my taste—especially for this sassy, 30-something starlet.

Rita Ora In Roksanda Ilincic - British Designers' Collective

Rita Ora shockingly took her look from loud and daring to positively demure when she hosted the ‘Future Vintage’ launch for the annual British Designers’ Collective boutique at Bicester Village in England yesterday.

The British songstress covered up in a structured, fire-engine-red Roksanda Ilincic Pre-Fall 2012 ‘Izumi’ dress with contrasting navy-blue cuffs that reminded me of wrist ‘peplums.’

However, the sophisticated silhouette was slightly compromised by her styling.

The playful, white-and-yellow Nicholas Kirkwood sandals seemed out of place, while a big, bold pair of canary-yellow gemstone earrings almost commanded more attention than the dress.

Rita thankfully wasn’t wearing a wig, but her root-showing strands that were teased into a mussed-up semi-pompadour didn’t exactly match the polish of the dress.

You may remember that Princess Beatrice and Marisa Tomei trotted out the ivory and blue version of this design within days of each other last summer.

Judging by who has worn it, the dress obviously has wide-ranging appeal.

Ashley Madekwe In Topshop - BAFTA Los Angeles and Sir Philip Green Celebrate the British New Wave at Topshop Topman at The Grove

On Tuesday, Ashley Madekwe turned out for the BAFTA Los Angeles and Sir Philip Green Celebrate the British New Wave event, hosted at Topshop Topman at The Grove in Los Angeles, California.

Naturally, the ‘Revenge’ actress pledged her allegiance to Topshop with this exploded-check dungaree jumpsuit, worn with simple black sandals and a black, copper-accented clutch.

And, in so doing, she further extended my love of the jumpsuit—even one inspired by overalls.

While not all starlets could carry off this mannish moment nor the peg-pant silhouette, Ashley did so with stylish aplomb.

Loose waves and nude makeup softened the masculine edge, and a gold charm necklace added a glint of shine.

Zooey Deschanel In Dolce & Gabbana - Screening And Q&A For Fox's 'New Girl'

‘New Girl’ star Zooey Deschanel walked the red carpet at a screening and Q&A for the comedy television series at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in Hollywood earlier this week.

We’ve come to expect some element of quirk with Zooey, but her latest clunky style statement was perhaps too much inspired by her funny, offbeat TV character.

It started out okay with her festive Dolce & Gabbana high-waisted, pleated ribbon skirt. But the party stopped there.

Even though her black midriff-baring top was on trend, the colour and the proportion felt wrong here. The shirt almost needed to be cropped a fraction of an inch shorter to keep it from looking like an untucked tee.

Black opaque tights and pointy black patent heels added even more head-scratching heaviness.

A cute half up-half down hairstyle, along with a coral-red lippie, rounded out the look.
