Bella Thorne In Jovani Signature – 2017 Teen Choice Awards

Bella Thorne returned to the red—well, blue—carpet at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards on Saturday (August 13) in LA, but I will be the first to admit that I barely recognized her.

The ‘Famous in Love’ actress was more channeling an ‘almost famous’ punk-star vibe, as she put her hot-pink locks to work for her by pairing them with multi-coloured makeup and confetti glitter strewn across her hair and face.

To go with that Lisa Frank rainbow-rad effect, she wore a sequined crop top, black leather-look pants and a shimmery Jovani Signature duster coat—plus platform shoes, of course.

I really have no words, as I simply don’t understand this costume-y, trendy-tragic look that has left me wishing for her return to her auburn-haired roots.

Lucy Hale In Fausto Puglisi – 2017 Teen Choice Awards

It was a big night for Lucy Hale at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday (August 13) in LA, as the ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star was surprised on stage with her Choice Drama TV Actress award.

With one foot in summer and the other in fall, she continued the warm-weather velvet trend. Her Fausto Puglisi mini was rendered in velvety quilted form and accented with an excessive nod to embellishment that we’d expect from the designer.

Some might find issue with the strong chartreuse and magenta palette, but it was the side cutouts—which appeared rather gaping at some angles—were just a bit bothersome to me.

That said, Lucy styled the look so chicly with her sleek bob along with Stuart Weitzman metallic ‘Nudist’ sandals and delicate Beladora, Shay, and Ileana Makri jewels.

Zendaya Coleman In Ashish – 2017 Teen Choice Awards

Zendaya Coleman won the coveted 2017 Teen Choice Awards surf board for Choice Summer Movie Actress in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ on Sunday (August 13) in LA.

Wearing what can only be described as glittery, glam PJs, the starlet had on an Ashish Fall 2017 striped, sequin ensemble styled with golden-yellow stilettos.

As far as I’m concerned, she can wear pyjamas anytime if they look like this. She nailed the trend, as she wore the slouchy set with such effortless panache.

Her crave-worthy, retro curls and warm, desert-tinged makeup only strengthened the look.

Maddie Ziegler In Zac Posen – 2017 Teen Choice Awards

Maddie Ziegler danced her way right on stage to accept her Choice Dancer win at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday (August 13) in LA.

Although she’s just 14 years old, she wore a relatively progressive two-piece Zac Posen Resort 2018 ensemble that featured an all-over black-and-orange floral motif.

With the sculpted sleeve and the ornate patterning, it all felt a bit overcooked for her.

I could see this outfit worn more successfully with a simpler crop top—even the removal of the sleeves would have gone a long way to loosen up the effect and provide a more fun, youthful outlook befitting of the ‘Dance Moms’ alum.

Do you agree or do you like the fact that she opted to flip the script and do something different to stand out from the Teen Choice crowd?

Rita Ora In Alexandre Vauthier – 2017 Teen Choice Awards

Before Rita Ora took the stage to perform ‘Your Song’ during the opening act at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday (August 13) in LA, she was on the red carpet, where she showcased her legends and cupcakes nail art.

This may have been Teen Choice, but Rita was wearing an all-grown-up outfit, oozing playful seduction in a hot-pink, slit-to-there Alexandre Vauthier robe-style wrap gown.

While she accessorised with a matching pink lip and a diamond body chain, it was her sunny-yellow highlights that gave the equally attention-grabbing dress a run for its money.

Some might find this all-around neon explosion a bit excessive, however, this is Rita we’re talking about.

And, she simply had to make a stand for her particular brand of sexy punchiness before changing into a sporty jumpsuit for her performance.
