Jordin Sparks In Halston Heritage – 2014 American Music Awards

Jordin Sparks In Halston Heritage - 2014 American Music Awards

Jordin Sparks was one of the first on the red carpet at the 2014 American Music Awards tonight (November 23) at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.

As co-host of the AMAs pre-show, the recording artist worked the bronze goddess angle with her Halston Heritage Fall 2014 sequined gown with black Dolce & Gabbana sandals.

With its deep plunge and thigh-high slit, this glitzy number had all the hallmarks of a Halston design, although the dress was a bit too short and the slit a bit too gaping for my liking.

Jordin put her own hip-hop spin on all those sequins with a collection of gold jewelry, including rings, a hand bracelet, a body chain, earrings and, yes, a nose ring.

An explosion of curls and a fuchsia lip finished the ensemble that fell a bit flat despite the glitz, but her beaming smile could brighten any sartorial shortcoming.

Rosamund Pike In Altuzarra - 'Gone Girl' World Premiere

Rosamund Pike joined Reese Witherspoon at the opening night gala presentation and world premiere of ‘Gone Girl,’ held during the 52nd New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall on Friday (September 26) in New York City.

Returning to her favoured color of the moment, black, she adopted a flowing silhouette to accommodate her growing baby bump. She wore an Altuzarra Resort 2015 bow-accented, high-low top and matching skirt with a thigh-high slit for a sliver of sultriness.

A tight, centre-parted updo and oxblood lip added an element of additional intrigue to the dark ensemble.

Emmy Rossum In Pamella Roland – ‘Rudderless’ Catalina Film Festival Premiere

Emmy Rossum In Pamella Roland - 'Rudderless' Catalina Film Festival Premiere

Emmy Rossum attended the premiere of ‘Rudderless,’ held on Saturday (September 27) during the Catalina Film Festival in Catalina Island, California.

Working a lovely shade of cornflower blue that was a striking colour with her glossy dark waves, the actress donned a Pamella Roland Spring 2015 dress.

Charmingly feminine, the frock’s structured bodice with contrast shaping and on-trend triangular cutout were the sultry counterpoint to the sweetness of the swingy circle skirt.

Darker navy Christian Louboutin heels added another shade of blue to the mix, as did her pretty sky-blue eye shadow.

Rose Byrne attended the Broadway opening night performance after party for ‘You Can’t Take It With You’ at the Brasserie 8 ½ on Sunday (September 28) in New York City.

Dazzling in a deep shade of scintillating bronze, she wore a Dsquared² Resort 2015 silk-chiffon halter dress with a plissé skirt and a draped, cutout bustier paired with complementary Casadei blade heels.

With a languid, slinky vibe, the metallic number looked back to the retro spirit of the ’70s yet was entirely modern, especially with Rose’s impossibly sleek bob.

Styled with a simple bangle and golden box Oroton clutch, this was a glam yet effortless entrance from the actress.

Cate Blanchett In Christian Dior Couture – ‘Blue Jasmine’ Zurich Film Festival Screening

Cate Blanchett In Christian Dior Couture - 'Blue Jasmine' Zurich Film Festival Screening

Cate Blanchett was back on the scene at the 2014 Zurich Film Festival after her IWC photo exhibit opening, attending the ‘Blue Jasmine’ screening later in the day on Saturday (September 27) in Zurich, Switzerland.

Somewhat reflecting the ‘green carpet,’ the actress selected a regal Christian Dior Fall 2014 Couture forest-green silk frock coat with the same mahogany pumps seen earlier.

With the full-skirted form and exaggerated collar mixed with a zipper front detail and embellished white statement belt, the dress had the unique position of being both period and futuristic. Still, I found myself wishing for the bodice and sleeves to be more neatly fitted.

Accounting for the voluminous shaping, Cate streamlined the styling with simply a light pink lip and a loose, breezy updo completing the look.

Hailee Steinfeld In Mary Katrantzou – 2014 Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party

Hailee Steinfeld In Mary Katrantzou - 2014 Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party

Hailee Steinfeld attended the 2014 Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party on Friday (September 26) in Los Angeles, California.

The young starlet took a spin in a Mary Katrantzou Fall 2014 midnight-blue dress with crystal and beaded embellishment, which she paired with Bionda Castana ‘Karlie’ black booties.

Devoid of the designer’s more recognizable, dynamic digital prints, the frock did have some fun with its robotic-like figures at the neckline and the voluminous, pleated party skirt.

Never afraid to flaunt quirkier fashion selections, Hailee instead veered in a more girly direction, embracing the youthful and fun spirit of the frock with her long waves.

While the more mannish footwear may have been worn in an effort to tame the sugary silhouette, they were a rather heavy, blocky finish.
