MatchesFashion.com + Mary Katrantzou Exclusive Initials Collection Launch

MatchesFashion + Mary Katrantzou Exclusive Initials Collection Launch

Actresses Gillian Jacobs, Jena Malone, Jenny Slate, Kiernan Shipka, and Michelle Monaghan all donned Mary Katrantzou looks while attending the launch celebration for the Matchesfashion.com + Mary Katrantzou Exclusive Initials Collection on Monday (April 20) at the Kayne Griffin Corcoran Gallery in Los Angeles, California.

Gillian Jacobs: Playing with prints, the actress wore a Mary Katrantzou Pre-Fall 2015 strapless frock that mixed tartan checks with exploded paisleys. The heavy black sandals dampened the fun, colourful mood of the dress.

Jena Malone: More successful was Jena’s fresh Mary Katrantzou Spring 2015 frock which embodied youthful elegance and flirty flair, especially when styled with the quirk of platform heels. I love this look for its artfully chaotic mix of prints and warm coral undertones, which were beautiful with the actress’s flame-red hair.

Michelle Monaghan: The girly, flared silhouette of this Mary Katrantzou Pre-Fall 2015 dress with exploded paisley prints received a dose of sultrier allure with sheer detailing. The heavy-strapped shoes unfortunately didn’t live up to the frock.

Natalia Vodianova In Valentino Couture – The Backstage Gala in aid of The Naked Heart Foundation

Natalia Vodianova In Valentino Couture - The Backstage Gala in aid of The Naked Heart Foundation
Natalia Vodianova attended The Backstage Gala in aid of The Naked Heart Foundation at The London Coliseum on Friday (April 17) in London, England.

The model always wears head-to-toe red for The Naked Heart Foundation, and this latest gala was no different.

Her Valentino Fall 2014 Couture goddess gown was the embodiment of classic Hollywood glamour with an obi-inspired sash belt adding graceful structure to the fluid lines of the dress.

The red theme continued in her accessories, yet the real stunner was her diamond and pearl necklace.

I did find the Launer ‘Traviata’ handbag and jewels slightly at odds with each other—a more minimalistic look would have fared beautifully without them, too, with Natalia’s retro waves and bare-faced makeup completing the effortless effect.

2015 Tribeca Film Festival Chanel Artists Dinner

2015 Tribeca Film Festival Chanel Artists Dinner

The 2015 Tribeca Film Festival Chanel Artists Dinner was hosted at Balthazar in New York City on Monday (April 20), where the fashion house’s famous fans gathered to raise a toast.

Zoe Kravitz: While it was lovely to see the actress’s softer side in this Chanel ensemble consisting of a pink cropped sweater and flirty, flared patterned skirt, I simply couldn’t get past those white pumps.

Cobie Smulders: I loved Cobie’s Chanel outing which artfully combined patterns in a painterly, watercolour top and tweed trousers. Her ‘Ladies First’ handbag put the final tongue-in-cheek zing into the look.

Michiel Huisman: He wore a navy Jack Wills suit and Haspel Clothing Hawaiian-print shirt with wife Tara Elders in an army-green dress and black shoulder bag. While it’s hard to argue with the actor’s handsome gaze, I simply don’t understand this island-inspired look on this occasion.

Olivia Wilde In Emanuel Ungaro – Out In New York City

Olivia Wilde In Emanuel Ungaro - Out In New York City

Olivia Wilde was spotted out and about in New York City where she has been making a series of appearances for the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival.

Still channeling a throwback vibe and the colours of fall, the actress wore a retro-inspired look from the Emanuel Ungaro Pre-Fall 2015 collection.

The colour-block hues of purple, rust-orange and army-green dress were decidedly snatched from the ’70s with the black and green blazer, edged up with grommets, a firm nod towards the ’80s.

Capped off with burnt-orange Jimmy Choo pumps, this ensemble is more like the Olivia we know. It has a sense of polished, ladylike flair mixed with cool-girl spirit that had been missing in her latest looks.

Alba Rohrwacher In Miu Miu – ‘Sworn Virgin’ Tribeca Film Festival Premiere

Alba Rohrwacher In Miu Miu - ‘Sworn Virgin’ Tribeca Film Festival Premiere

Alba Rohrwacher attended the premiere of ‘Sworn Virgin’ during the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival at Regal Battery Park 11 on Friday (April 17) in New York City.

The Italian actress wore a Miu Miu Fall 2015 white cady dress with a red and light-blue graphic motif, enriched with micro-sequins.

With the giant red buttons and bold houndstooth patterning, this frock had all the signature quirk of a Miuccia Prada design, although I do prefer the placement and colour of the buttons on the runway look. As presented, they appear haphazardly placed.

Black suede Miu Miu sandals completed the cheeky dress with a classic finish.

Lake Bell In Lanvin – ‘Man Up’ Tribeca Film Festival Premiere

Lake Bell In Lanvin - 'Man Up' Tribeca Film Festival Premiere

Lake Bell attended the ‘Man Up’ premiere during the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival at SVA Theater on Sunday (April 19) in New York City.

Embracing the beauty of chic minimalism, she wore a Lanvin Pre-Fall 2015 fitted black jumpsuit that combined an androgynous edge with feminine allure.

The black leather ‘Azov’ belt with pearl detail, matte off-white and black python long minaudière, and single ‘Azov’ pearl and crystal ear cuff, all by Lanvin, enhanced the effortless elegance with Gianvito Rossi sandals rounding out the accessories.

Side-swept waves and bare-faced beauty completed the less-is-more look.
