Zhang Ziyi In Rubin Singer - 'The Crossing' Cannes Film Festival Party

Actress Zhang Ziyi took to the red carpet on day four (May 17) of the Cannes Film Festival as she attended the party for new film ‘The Crossing’.

Steering away from her usual monochromatic and understated palette, Zhang brought a welcome pop of colour in a canary yellow Rubin Singer long-sleeved column dress which highlighted her elegantly lean figure.

Zhang added an unexpected hit of colour in the form of a red perspex box bag and finished the look with a sparkling cocktail ring and huge drop earrings. While these accessories are all great in their own right, all together they jar and I’m not sure the mix of modern and traditional works too well.

I must admit, I’m not blown away by this look. While her complexion is flawless and it is undoubtedly a polished look, I can’t help but feel like this dress looks is a little dated, and I can’t really get on board with the ruching around the shoulder pads.

But what do you think?

Julianne Moore In Lanvin - 'The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1' Party

Julianne Moore added a heavy dose of glamour to ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1’ party at the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival on Saturday evening (May 17).

Continuing her show-stopping Cannes wardrobe, the actress wore a jade green one-shoulder crepe jersey draped Pre-Fall 2014 dress and satin pumps by Lanvin, and showed off a spectacular pair of Chopard earrings with a refreshing top knot plus a Tod’s clutch.

I think the colour of the dress is divine against Julianne’s fair skin and the way her pink Chopard jewels both clash and complement is a such a chic twist.

This is a serious mega-watt look from Julianne, but one that I love. It may not be particularly original in the way that her Louis Vuitton turn was but it is certainly uber glam and exactly what the occasion demands.

This is Cannes after all…

Naomi Campbell In Robert Cavalli - Arqiva British Academy Television Awards

Naomi Campbell attended the 2014 Arqiva British Academy Television Awards held at Theatre Royal in London yesterday evening (May 18).

Wearing a gunmetal floor-length Roberto Cavalli gown with deep neckline and pleated train, the red carpet pro oozed glamour and sophistication.

While the revealing lattice-like bodice could have proved too daring for some, on Naomi it simply highlighted her amazing physique and the floaty, pleated fabric made for a romantic silhouette and elegantly softened the sexy cut-outs.

The model kept styling minimal with barley-there make-up and added a hint of glamour with a couple of Aztec-inspired gold cuffs.

While it’s easy to see why Naomi let the craftsmanship in the gown do the talking, I would have loved to see a hint of sparkle in the form of an emerald cocktail ring or a drop earring, but overall this is a stunning dress that Naomi pulls off with ease.

Amber Heard In Ulyana Sergeenko Couture - 2014 Texas Film Awards

Amber Heard was joined by fiancé Johnny Depp on the red carpet of the 2014 Texas Film Awards at Austin Studios in Austin, Texas, on Thursday (March 6).

The actress brought a healthy dose of vampish glamour to the event wearing an Ulyana Sergeeenko Spring 2013 Couture black wrap dress with long tassle hem and floral embroidery detailing.

The shawl-like dress could have easily been dressed down, but Amber injected her signature sassiness with a bold red lip and added drama with a sleek up-do.

A pair of dazzling Stephen Webster earrings complemented her stunning engagement ring, and a welcome pop of colour from a sexy red Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle’ pump were everything this look needed.

I think this is quite an unusual yet really unique choice of dress, but how do you think this look compares to her similar but much sexier Alexandre Vauthier dress at last month’s ‘3 Days to Kill’ LA Premiere?

Rosario Dawson In Vivienne Westwood - Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2014

Rosario Dawson added a knock-out splash of sparkle to the red carpet of the 2014 Vanity Fair Oscars Party on Sunday (March 2) in West Hollywood, California.

This was the night and party to pull out all the stops, which is why Rosaria’s sequin-laden Vivienne Westwood Couture gown was so spectacular.

Rosaria oozed sexiness in the low-cut midnight blue strapless column dress, and all she needed to finish was a sleek and shiny patent Jimmy Choo ‘Mini Tube’ clutch, Jimmy Choo ‘Talison’ sandals and David Yurman jewels to add a modern edge.
