Allison Williams brought her best punk princess style to Monday’s Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

The ‘Girls’s star won me over in a sexy gown by Altuzarra.

Nothing says punk like all black, especially when it includes sheer panels and lace. Allison joined many other starlets by opting for long sleeves, but she showed off her figure with a sheer skirt and lace panels along her sides and midriff.

Smokey winged eye shadow, a nude lip and glossy, casual waves completed Allison’s punk perfection.

MileyCyrusMarcJacobs

Miley Cyrus has been building her punk sartorial cred for a while now, so it’s no surprise she dressed 100% for the Met Gala theme of ‘PUNK: Chaos to Couture’ in New York City on Monday.

Miley vamped it up in a look from Marc Jacobs Fall 2013. Her long-sleeved black mesh gown and nude underpinning was a straight shot ode to the punk era.

Theme aside, the style was very Miley–mostly edgy with a hint of sex appeal. The dress grazed over her curves for a sexy, yet covered feel.

Clearly dedicated to the punk style, I love that Miley went for the theme, but I wish she had just taken a step back with her hair. The spiky ‘do is a bit over the top and I’d much prefer to see her red lip paired with deep side part and slicked back strands.

How do you feel about Miley’s overtly punk hair style?

CocoRochaEmanuelUngaro

Coco Rocha walked the red carpet at Monday’s Met Gala at the The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

The star of ‘The Face’ worked a Emanuel Ungaro by Fausto Puglisi design from Fall 2013.

Coco’s high-neck, long-sleeved gown had a lot going on between the thigh-high slit, leopard print, and the 3D gold butterfly details across the bust and arms.

The model opted for a longer version than what went down the runway and I can’t say I’m pleased. If anyone can pull off this intense design it’s Coco, but with the added leopard from the extra length of the gown, my eyes really don’t know where to focus.

What do you think of Coco’s wildly embellished look? Too much or just enough punk?

Jessica Alba was a style star at the Met Gala in New York City on Monday.

Clad in Tory Burch, the actress interpretted the night’s punk theme while gracing the red carpet looking completly like her normal sartorial self.

The curve-hugging dark blue leather gown was all punk, while the sexy cutouts and feminine, lace-like laser cut embellishments were the refined, style-savvy Jessica we know and love.

The actress upped her punk cred with a black and gold spiked clutch and double snake ear cuffs by Jack Vartanian.

In terms of hair and makeup, Jessica nailed it: an on trend topknot was complimented by a braid down the back of Jessica’s head. A nude lip and grey smokey eye finished off a winning red carpet look.

JulianneHoughTopShop

Normally one for bright styles, Julianne Hough embraced the punk-focused theme at Monday’s Met Gala in New York city with a darker colour scheme.

Joining Jamie King and opting to wear a Topshop design, Julianne steered more retro than punk in a white, black, and grey checkered strapless tulle confection.

The ‘Safe Haven’ star snuck in a few punk accents with a high-low hemline to showcase her studded pointed toe, ankle strap pumps, and dark stud earrings.

Julianne went dark on her nails but remained minimal and luminescent in the makeup department. I wish she would have gone a bit more grunge with her beauty choices to balance the frilly dress.

Is this punk enough for the gala theme? I’m not so sure.

FYI. She wore Jacob & Co jewels.

GinniferGoodwinToryBurch

Ginnifer Goodwin is never one to shy away from expressing herself through fashion. And at Monday night’s Met Gala in New York City, the ‘Once Upon a Time’ actress hit the red carpet illustrating the event’s ‘PUNK: Chaos to Couture’ theme through her own eyes.

Shimmering in gold sequins thanks to Tory Burch, Ginnifer’s gown tamed the gilded glamour with a leather trim neckline and a black tulle hem.

The leather waistband whittled the actress’s waist to show off her figure while the rest of her look paid homage to the punk era.

Turning her normally cute pixie cut into a messy, bedhead style, Ginnifer focused on her eyes with a look that was 100% punk: heavy lash-to-brow black eye shadow and defined brows.

Ginnifer styled her red carpet look with heels and a box clutch also by Tory Burch and an ever so punk pewter earring in only one ear.

What do you think of her look: spot on, or too punk around the eyes?
