Martina McBride In David Meister – 2014 Grammy Awards

MartinaMcBrideInDavidMeister2014GrammyAwards

Martina McBride walked the red carpet on Sunday (January 26) at the 2014 Grammy Awards hosted at the Los Angeles Staples Center.

The country crooner chose a navy blue gown by David Meister.

The high neck column gown was an ode to clean lines and minimalism, but don’t miss the geometric panel details. Promoting her forthcoming album ‘Everlasting’, Martina added a bit of bling to her look with sparkly jewels by John Hardy and an equally glamorous Oroton ‘Opera’ clutch.

The singer continue with the minimalist theme with her beauty choices for the Grammy Awards, opting for a smokey eye and nude lip and voluminous hair with sexy sideswept bangs.

Skylar Grey In Michael Costello – 2014 Grammy Awards

SkylarGreyInMichaelCostello2014GrammyAwards

Skylar Grey took to the red carpet at Sunday’s (January 26) 2014 Grammy Awards, hosted at the Staples Center in sunny Los Angeles.

The ‘Don’t Look Down’ songstress wore a design by Michael Costello with a nod to the ever-popular nude-hued trend.

The high-neck gown was a mix of fashion and rock ‘n roll, made of perforated leather with on-trend cutouts and an exaggerated fishtail silhouette. Skylar accented the gown with glamorous and dramatic two-tier teardrop earrings.

The singer continued to nude trend with neutral makeup and simple, pulled-back hair. The nude on nude on nude isn’t my favourite look. I love taking the leather trend to the red carpet, especially for a music industry event, but the colourless palette washed out the singer. I would have loved just a hint of colour, say in a red lip.

What do you think of Skylar’s nude Grammy look?

Lizzy Caplan In Emilio Pucci – 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Lizzy Caplan walked the red carpet at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 12) at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

The ‘Masters of Sex’ actress really amped up her sartorial sex appeal in a gown by Emilio Pucci Spring 2014.

The black and silver column dress had an Art Deco feel that was different from anything seen on the red carpet. The silver-hued long sleeves with side details created a beautiful and texturally interesting design.

Lizzy completed the look with a Rauwolf clutch, Bionda Castana heels, and structure-yet-feminine waves.

This is an award-winner in my book. Do you agree?

Elsa Pataky In Paule Ka & Chris Hemsworth In Dolce & Gabbana – 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Elsa Pataky In Paule Ka & Chris Hemsworth In Dolce & Gabbana - 2014 Golden Globe Awards 2

What’s better than one red carpet beauty? Two beauties. Or in this case, stylish couple Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth, who attended the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 12) at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Elsa Pataky: The ‘Wine of Summer’ actress wore a dress by Paule Ka. There seemed to be a trend of halter necklines on the red carpet, and Elsa joined the ranks with a gem-encrusted geometric version that looked modern and fresh. She punctuated her black column gown with sleek, side swept locks and glowy, dewy makeup.

Chris Hemsworth: Always a stylish gentleman, the ‘Thor: The Dark World’ star wore a traditional black tux with some added interest pieces for his walk on the red carpet. Chris topped his tux with a blue velvet jacket, all by Dolce & Gabbana, and sapphire and pearl cufflinks set in white gold by Martin Katz.

Amy Adams In Valentino – 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Amy Adams graced the red carpet at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 12) in Beverly Hills, California.

Amy, who was nominated for her role in ‘American Hustle’ wore a gown by Valentino Haute Couture from the Shanghai collection. And despite the Asian influence of the design, Amy’s dress seemed very reminiscent of the 70’s era in which ‘American Hustle’ is set. Maybe she felt some fashion crossover with her character.

The two different hues of red felt modern compared to the traditional red bombshell-style dresses normally seen on the red carpet. Amy’s gown was a mix of sex appeal–hello, plunging neckline!–and ladylike, thanks to the soft demure skirt.

The actress accessorized wisely with Brian Atwood shoes, a long gold chain pendant necklace, and diamond drop earrings.

This is a bit of a departure from Amy’s typical red carpet style. Do you like the change?
