Laura Dern In Alberta Ferretti – 2015 Oscars

Laura Dern In Alberta Ferretti - 2015 Oscars

Laura Dern graced the red carpet on Sunday (February 22) at the 2015 Oscars, hosted at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.

Nominated for her role in ‘Wild’ Laura opted for a showstopping metallic gown by Alberta Ferretti.

Laura’s pewter-hued gown was calm in colour but was a pure texture dream complete with rivets and silk panelling from head to toe. Evoking a look of mesh armour, the gown featured curve-enhancing lines along the waist and hips that created a beautiful silhouette on the actress.

To punctuate the metallic theme of this look, Laura accessorized with a graphic black and silver clutch and Bulgari jewels including a medallion necklace, earrings, and a turquoise-coloured ring that was designed in honor of the character she played in her Oscar-nominated film.

I wish the medallion necklace had been left at home, however. The inclusion of the heavy piece of jewelry takes the gown very close to a ‘Game of Thrones’ costume and the dress had so much beautiful detailing, it didn’t need a piece of jewelry to add interest.

Faith Hill In J. Mendel – 2015 Oscars

Faith Hill In J. Mendel - 2015 Oscars

Faith Hill was all glamour on the red carpet on Sunday (February 22) at the 2015 Oscars, hosted at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.

The country music star looked impeccable in a J. Mendel Fall 2015 gown.

Faith proved that less is more, and really quite sexy. The simple wrap dress silhouette cascaded over her figure in the most gorgeous and effortless way. The cream coloured, long sleeved gown was embellished with shimmering monochromatic beading that added a dose of red carpet appeal to the clean lines of the gown.

The singer, rightly so, kept her accessories minimal with a long diamond necklace skimming the deep cut neckline, and stud earrings. Faith’s skin glowed in neutral hues of makeup and a deep side part.

This is a stunning look in my book, what do you think?

Patricia Arquette In Rosetta Getty – 2015 Oscars

Patricia Arquette In Rosetta Getty - 2015 Oscars

Patricia Arquette walked the red carpet on Sunday (February 22) at the 2015 Oscars, hosted at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.

As a nominee for her role in ‘Boyhood’ Patricia wore custom Rosette Getty.

A black-and-white colour combination is always a classic look on the red carpet, and Patricia’s column gown was just that. The black skirt is simple, yet incredibly slimming, and the white one-shouldered top offers a safe amount of glamour with a lovely architectural detail.

This look is simple and straightforward, but it undoubtedly works on Patricia. And I appreciate that she kept her accessories and beauty game clean and classic as well, enabling the focus to stay on her gown.

Rosamund Pike In Christian Dior Couture – 2015 SAG Awards

Rosamund Pike In Christian Dior Couture - 2015 SAG AwardsRosamund Pike was a breath of fresh air at the 2015 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 25) at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium.

The ‘Gone Girl’ nominee wore a confection of a gown by Christian Dior Spring 2014 Couture.

The high-low hemline is not often expected at award shows, but Rosamund pulled it off along with being dotted with fluffy architectural floral appliques. A bold dress like this often does not translate from the couture runway to the red carpet, but this dress did and was unlike any other at the award ceremony.

My only wish is that, just like on the runway version of the gown, more of the original sheerness of the gown would have remained. But, otherwise this is a red carpet win in my book.

Rosamund’s simple accessories and jewelry by Fred Leighton, and straightforward beauty choices–a red lip and sculpted, messy waves–were on par with the rest of the look.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Thakoon – 2015 SAG Awards

Maggie Gyllenhaal attended the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday (January 25) at L.A.’s Shrine Auditorium.

Maggie joined many other red carpet beauties by wearing white. Her custom Thakoon gown was glamorous, effortless, and laid-back all at the same time.

The long-sleeved design injected a 70’s vibe into the red carpet, which was unique to all the other gowns. The dress featured a plunging neckline with a sheer panel detail at the bust and soft ruching with a center slit for bonus glamour.

I love that Maggie’s makeup is simple–a bold red lip–which paired well with her gilded box clutch and gold jewels by Bvlgari and Fred Leighton.
