January Jones In Chanel – 2013 Chanel Pre-Oscar Dinner

chanel-january-jones

January Jones joined Kate Bosworth to show her designer love at the Chanel Pre-Oscar Dinner in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The ‘Mad Men’ star wore a black viscose sweater compliments of the Chanel Resort 2013 collection and pants from Chanel Fall 2012.

The mini-turtleneck style sweater featured textured detailing on the front panel and exposed just a sliver of January’s skin for a playful look. The black and white pants were a graphic take on the classic tuxedo pant, and I’m glad that she went without the matching coat shown on the runway.

January is a past fan of the black and white trend, and really, the whole look seems to be a style her ‘Mad Men’ character Betty Draper would wear. She styled the pants-and-top look with Chanel shoes, a clutch, and a statement ‘Eventail’ black and white diamond cuff.

A neutral makeup palette and a volume-injected bob completed the look.

Bella Heathcote In Chanel – 2013 Chanel Pre-Oscar Dinner

Bella Heathcote showed her designer support at the Chanel Pre-Oscar Dinner in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The Australian actress wore a chiffon and quilted dress from Chanel Spring 2013.

The lavender, chartreuse, and blue floral appliques gave a jolt of springtime elegance that didn’t quite translate from the runway to the red carpet. The dress is beautiful, but the softness of the silhouette didn’t flatter Bella’s figure. I much prefer her in structured lines, like this fresh floral look.

Bella did perfectly accessorize the style by toughening up the girly dress with black and transparent Jimmy Choo ‘Freya’ sandals and a matching black clutch.

To complete her look, Bella sported glossy locks styled in soft waves and rosy makeup.

Jessica Chastain In Chanel – 2013 Chanel Pre-Oscar Dinner

Jessica Chastain prepared for her night as an Oscar nominee at the Chanel Pre-Oscar Dinner hosted at Madeo Restaurant in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ star wore a design from the Spring 2013 Couture collection.

Jessica was a vision in white—a colour which she’s often drawn to—in a silk pleated confection that looked airy and feminine. The crisscross halter neckline and bodice were accented with luxe blingy details.

The actress, whose style has been spot on as of late, styled the dress with sparkly champagne-colored open-toed heels, also by the hosting designer.

Kate Bosworth In Chanel – 2013 Chanel Pre-Oscar Dinner

The 85th Academy Awards are just a few hours away and Hollywood’s biggest fashionistas have been celebrating with many parties leading up to the big award ceremony. Kate Bosworth attended the Chanel Pre-Oscar Dinner hosted at Madeo Restaurant in Los Angeles on Saturday.

To fete the designer’s event, Kate work a pink dress from the Chanel Spring 2013 Couture collection.

The ‘Big Sur’ actress kept to her often-signature high neck style, which I think suits her beautifully. The dress had a uniquely structured collar and sleeve that balanced out the sugary sweetness of the light pink colour. It all looked very Kate.

The actress accessorized the look with all Chanel pieces including a geometric clutch, black pumps, and from Chanel’s fine jewelry collection, ‘Bouton Camelia’ diamond earrings and a matching bracelet.

A less-is-more makeup look and sleek ponytail allowed the structured details of the dress to draw much-warranted attention.

Kelly Rowland In Fendi – 6th Annual Essence Black Women In Hollywood Awards

Kelly Rowland In Fendi - 6th Annual Essence Black Women In Hollywood Awards

Kelly Rowland posed for photos at the 6th Annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday.

The singer, whose album ‘Talk a Good Game’ drops later the year, wore a frock from Fendi Resort 2013 with t-strap heels and a gold, chain link bracelet.

The navy and yellow dress is on-trend with spring’s color-blocking look, but unfortunately the dramatic sleeve seen in the lookbook is much more deflated in real wear on Kelly. Plus, the down hairstyle masks any potential sleeve volume from view.

Don’t get me wrong, Kelly looks good and very appropriate for the luncheon event, but I’m underwhelmed by look because I know the sassy, risk-taking fashion sense she has. Remember her peekaboo Grammy gown and this magical mirrored number? That’s the edge I’m used to seeing Kelly in, and I wish she hadn’t strayed so far.

Bianca Balti and Abigail Spencer have also worn this two-hued dress. Who do you think it suits best?
