Amal Clooney In Maison Margiela – 2015 Met Gala

Amal Clooney In Maison Margiela Couture - 2015 Met Gala

Amal Clooney walked the red carpet of the 2015 Met Gala in New York City tonight (May 4) arm in arm with her dashing husband George Clooney.

Her strapless red Maison Margiela ‘Artisanal’ gown is clearly made for her body (that tiny waist!) and she looks every bit the part of high fashion goddess that she has earned since coming into the spotlight with George.

At first I questioned how this dress fit into the Chinese theme of the night, but when I realized how Chinese-military inspired the bodice was, I just swooned. I love that Amal and the gown went a completely different direction with the theme, and the intricacies in the construction are riveting.

While I might have liked to see Amal go for a major hair departure with some kind of striking updo, with hair that perfect, I guess you just really want to show it off. All in all, a total win for Mrs. Clooney in my book.

Amanda Seyfried In Givenchy Couture – 2015 Met Gala

Amanda Seyfried In Givenchy Couture - 2015 Met Gala

Amanda Seyfried also attended the 2015 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City tonight (May 4).

The white, halter-neck Givenchy Couture gown is an absolute work of art, and one that Amanda wears flawlessly.

The effect of the floral appliqués almost looks like cut paper to me, it is so delicate and intricate in nature. The multi-layered high/low hemline is unexpected for this type of gown, and while at first I thought it detracted from the design, the more I look at it, the more I agree that it does elevate the entire concept.

Stunning earrings, a deep berry lipstick, sleek updo and enviable posture finish off a lovely look. I’m a bit distracted by what appear to be too-stark-white shoes, but I still give Amanda very high marks for this look.

Rachel Weisz In Chanel Couture – 2015 Met Gala

Rachel Weisz In Chanel Couture - 2015 Met Gala

Rachel Weisz looked lovely as she walked the red carpet of the 2015 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City tonight (May 4).

Donning a silver Chanel Couture gown with delicate grey beading, Rachel looks like a porcelain doll. But, dare I say it, the gown is completely underwhelming! The runway version has so much more editorial appeal, but this strapless iteration is much too dull for such an occasion.

Flawless skin, a matte red lip and matching mani/pedi, old Hollywood waves and a slightly smokey eye finish the look.

Allison Williams In Giambattista Valli Couture – 2015 Met Gala

"China: Through The Looking Glass" Costume Institute Benefit Gala - Arrivals

Allison Williams made a red hot statement on the red carpet of the 2015 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City tonight (May 4).

Her bright red Giambattista Valli Custom Haute Couture embroidered silk dress is accented with stunning diamond Fred Leighton jewels.

I’m blown away by this gown. The combination of the voluminous, tulle-accented skirt, the shimmering black detailing on the bodice and the high waistline is complete perfection, and Allison brings it to life so gracefully. While it may not scream ‘China’ to me, it is too divine to worry about the night’s theme.

Unlike many ladies tonight, who are going for daring, bold beauty looks, Allison’s kept her makeup understated and went for a completely mute lip–I choice a love alongside the dramatic gown.

Katie Holmes In Zac Posen – 2015 Met Gala

Katie Holmes In Zac Posen - 2015 Met Gala

Katie Holmes turned heads as she walked the red carpet of the 2015 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City tonight (May 4).

Once again serving as designer Zac Posen’s muse, she wore a midnight blue creation with shimmery embroidery.

The cut on the gown is striking on Katie, and the dress is something like staring into a night sky, which is divine. Her diamond cuff and metallic clutch are the perfect complements to the look.

But, taking nothing away from the lovely gown, perhaps the most head-turning element of Katie’s look is her fierce bob. A definite nod to the Chinese theme of the night, and almost certainly a wig, the style looks amazing on Katie, and I seriously wish she would actually cut her hair this way! It gives her an edgier vibe that I’m totally loving.

Nude lips, bronzed skin and smudgy eye makeup finish off the perfect finishing touch.
