Faith Hill In Zuhair Murad – 2017 Grammy Awards

Faith Hill hit the red carpet of the 2017 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 12).

The country superstar wore an elegant, long-sleeved Zuhair Murad gown from the designer’s Pre-Fall 2017 collection.

Red is most certainly a color trend tonight, and the hue looks gorgeous on Faith, but I do take exception to a couple of her styling choices. First off, I really miss the belt from the runway look! I’m also having a hard time with the competing shades of red with the dress, shoes and clutch–they aren’t exact shade matches, and it’s distracting.

Finally, while her hair is absolute #goals on every level, leaving it down and voluminous detracts from the gown’s fierce shoulders.

Do you think I’m being too critical here of a truly lovely gown?

Mya In Styland – 2017 Grammy Awards

Mya attended the 2017 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 12).

The singer wore a red satin Styland suit with L’Dezen by Payal Shah jewels.

I love a good pantsuit on the red carpet, but unfortunately, this just looks sloppy.

It’s the pussybow that is killing this for me. The peek-boo bralette under the suit could have been a risqué and fun addition to the more demure fashion choice of a suit, but with the bow, too, it’s just overkill.

Laura Pausini In Valentino Couture – 2017 Grammy Awards

Laura Pausini attended the 2017 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 12).

The singer wore a long-sleeved, black Valentino Couture gown from the Fall 2016 collection.

To say that this dress leaves much to be desired is quite the understatement for me. It is just so ‘meh’.

However, a couple of tweaks could have really helped things–getting her dark hair pulled up and off of the dark dress would have helped, and some sort of really eye-catching jewelry, like the necklace we see on the runway, would have also elevated the look dramatically.

You may recall that Nicole Kidman wore the shorter version of the look last month, and losing some of the length helps a lot for me.

Am I missing the point, or are you equally underwhelmed?

Carrie Underwood In Elie Madi – 2017 Grammy Awards

Carrie Underwood looked red hot at the 2017 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 12).

The country superstar wore a dramatic, long-sleeved Elie Madi gown with gold hoop Nigaam earrings and Jimmy Choo ‘Max’ sandals.

Is this a whole lotta look? One hundred percent. Am I absolutely eating it up? One hundred percent!

The Asian-inspired high neckline and voluminous sleeves perfectly offset the keyhole opening on the bodice and the dramatic front slit, while the sequins and intricate detailing offer a perfect wow-factor.

Keeping her makeup in shades of nudes and browns and her fingernails free of color allows the fiery red hue to have a moment–and what a moment it is!

Adele In Givenchy Couture – 2017 Grammy Awards

Adele made a striking appearance on the red carpet of the 2017 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 12).

The singer wore a long-sleeved, embellished olive green Givenchy gown from the Fall 2016 Couture collection.

There is so much ‘win’ to this look that I don’t even know where to begin. The color is unique and stunning with Adele’s hair color. And since everyone knows I am crazy about long-sleeved red carpet looks, it’s needless to say that I’m loving the modifications made from the runway version.

The polka dot and lace detailing on the sleeves add even more interest to the already dramatic look, but even with so much detail, everything is in perfect union.

Her signature dramatic makeup and a softly upswept chignon complete this stunning look.

Tinashe In Alexander Wang – 2017 Grammy Awards

Tinashe was one of the first stars to make her way down the red carpet of the 2017 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 12).

The ‘Joyride’ singer wore a black satin Alexander Wang gown from the Spring 2017 collection.

Despite the many peek-a-boo elements, for the Grammys, this look will likely end up being one of the more conservative we see.

While the dress shows off the singers perfectly toned physique, it is actually her hair and makeup that really catch my eye–the loose updo and perfectly on-trend rosey-hued eyeshadow is stunning.

Sadly, that means this look is forgettable for me–do you agree?

Selena Gomez In Coach, Proenza Schouler & Victoria Beckham – Out In New York City

Selena Gomez made her way around New York City this week promoting the upcoming Netflix show ’13 Reasons Why’, on which she is an executive producer.

Look 1: On Wednesday (February 8), Selena looked playful and fun in a floral Coach dress with a letterman-inspired bomber jacket over top. Black peep-toe Givenchy heels added a touch of sophistication to the youthful ensemble.

Look 2: Later the same day (you can see an assistant behind her carrying her jacket!), Selena changed into a black and white houndstooth-print Proenza Schouler Spring 2017 dress. Unfortunately, I’m having a much harder time with this look. There is just one too many ideas going on, and the proportions seem off–maybe one less peek-a-boo opening would help?

Look 3: Finally, Selena was seen leaving the 19th annual amfAR’s New York Gala wearing a look from Victoria Beckham’s Pre-Fall 2017 collection. The bold colour-blocking, extended sleeves and men’s shirt detailing show Selena’s love of fashion even if it’s well outside her M.O., and proves her recent commitment to a more grown-up look. This look has been worn by VB herself.
