Kristen Bell In Roberto Cavalli - Oscars 2014

Kristen Bell walked the red carpet at the Oscars 2014 held at the Hollywood & Highland Center on Sunday (March 2) in Hollywood, California.

The star wore a strapless, blush-colored Roberto Cavalli gown with elegant beaded detailing.

The gown was definitely a subtle approach to the fashion face-off that is the Academy Awards, but Kristen looks ladylike and beautiful, and the Ferragamo box clutch is a trendy touch.

She accented the look with Piaget’s Rose Empress necklace and Rose earrings in white gold and diamonds.

I am not a fan of the dated updo, but her flawless skin and pink lips are the perfect makeup choices for the look.

Kelly Osbourne In Badgley Mischka - Oscars 2014

Kelly Osbourne looked stylish and fit on the red carpet of the Oscars 2014 in Los Angeles tonight (March 2).

The E! host and celeb fashion commentator wore a sleek white Badgley Mischka gown with a metallic lace capelet from the designer’s Spring 2014 collection.

This dress was the perfect choice for Kelly who, as a rule, manages to embody vintage glamour while still giving her own edgy vibe.

A few gold cocktail rings, chandelier earrings and a gold box clutch are the perfect accessories, and her signature purple hair curled into a trendy bob complete the gorgeous ensemble.

Giuliana Rancic In Paolo Sebastian Couture - Oscars 2014

Giuliana Rancic made an elegant first impression at Oscars 2014 in Los Angeles tonight (March 2).

The E! host wore a blush-hued Paolo Sebastian Couture from the Fall 2014 collection.

While red carpet hosts are never going to get as much attention as the stars themselves, Giuliana looks absolutely beautiful and definitely deserves praise for her gown choice.

The lace appliqué bodice and layers upon layers of pleated tulle of the skirt are the perfect pairing.

A sleek chignon and dramatic smokey eye complete the look and ensure that ‘G’ can hold her own next to the big names she’ll be interviewing tonight.

Hair Trend Spotting Chic Bobs

Bobs have been extremely popular in Hollywood for quite a few months now, and never has that been more apparent than at Tuesday’s Stand Up For Cancer event, when everyone from host Reese Witherspoon to attendees Emma Roberts, Lily Collins and Jessica Alba arrived with their own version of the season’s hottest hairstyle.

The best part is how truly versatile this chic cut can be. To get Reese’s slightly messy-with-bangs version, use a texturizing product such as Blow Pro Beach Blow Texturizing Mist, and create subtle waves with a curling wand, such as Conair Infiniti Curling Wand Styler.

For Emma’s sleek and smooth version, blow dry with a paddle brush, and use a glossing product like John Frieda Frizz-Ease 100% Shine Glossing Mist.

And to get Lily’s smooth on top, but messy on the bottom look, combine the two techniques: Keep the top smooth, but add a texturizing product from half way down the shaft to the ends of the hair, and then after creating waves, comb through them with a wide-tooth comb to give the hair a slightly ‘undone’ look. Finish it off with a flexible hold hairspray.

20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - ArrivalsIf anyone doesn’t believe that Lupita Nyong’o is ‘the one to watch’ on the red carpet this award season, they haven’t been paying attention to the stunning fashion and beauty choices the newcomer has been making in the past few weeks. At the SAG Awards on Saturday night, it was no exception. Lupita’s stunning Gucci gown was a real attention-grabber, and her makeup was just as striking.

Lupita’s makeup artist, Nick Barose, explains that her makeup was inspired by Lupita’s gown–”the flowers across Lupita’s chest inspired me to do something with her eyes that reminded me of butterflies on flowers” but “to keep the look from being too matchy-matchy, I kept the blue eyeshadow only in the inner corners of the eyes, and then mixed in two other colours, purple and yellow, to mimic butterfly wings. Lupita can carry colour like no one else.”

To start things off, Nick massaged Chanel Sublimage L’Essence Essential Revitalizing Concentrate and Chanel Sublimage La Crème Yeux into Lupita’s skin, let it sit for five minutes, and then blotted it off with tissue, so it left behind just enough moisture for a perfect canvas.

Then, since her eyes were going to be so colourful, Nick didn’t want Lupita to look like she was wearing blush, so he dusted Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Emotion onto the apples of her cheeks to add dimension. Next, he applied Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour on to her T-zone, under her eyes, onto the bridge of her nose and along her chin to brighten up her face.

For the statement-making eyes, Nick used the bright turquoise shade (top left) from the Chanel Les 4 Ombre Quadra Eye Shadow in Fascination from the inner corner of Lupita’s eyes to the center, and then applied Chanel Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Amethyst from the outer corners toward the center, but did not let the two colours meet.

Then he used Chanel Limited Edition Le Crayon Khôl Intense Eye Pencil in Pêche Cuivré in the center of the eyes, blending it into the other two colours with his fingers. Next, he took a small shadow brush and combined all the colours together, to make sure you couldn’t see where each colour ended.

Then he took the Pêche Cuivré pencil again and coloured along Lupita’s brow bone and took Chanel Stylo Yeux Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Noir Intense and lined the lash lines and applied two coats of Chanel Inimitable Waterproof Mascara Multi-Dimensionnel in Noir on the upper lashes only.

To finish the eyes, Nick used Chanel Stylo Yeux Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Violine from the inner corner to the outer corner along the lower lashline, and then topped that off with the same purple shadow he used on the lids.

To make sure the brows looked polished, but not too bold, Nick used Chanel Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Brun Cendré to create a fuller shape, and then went over that with a bronze eye shadow to tone the colour down.

Finally, for her lips, Nick shares, “We did break the beauty rule of ‘if you do dramatic eyes, don’t do bright lips,’ but this look called for something whimsical, so a neutral lip would have fallen flat.”

First, he used Chanel Rouge Coco Baume Hydration Conditioning Lip Balm and let it sit on the lips to moisturize, before then blotting it off. Then, he traced the edges of the lips with Chanel Le Crayon Lèvres Precision Lip Definer in Framboise and then filled them all in, and then blotted it off. Next, he applied Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Passion, which he also blotted off. “To make the lips look like a stain and not too lipstick-y, I just removed the colour as I went,” explains Nick. “That way the colour popped in a gentle way and gave the look a feminine touch.”

Malin Akerman In Naeem Khan - 2014 SAG Awards
Malin Akerman joined her fellow actors on the red carpet of the 2014 SAG Awards in Los Angeles tonight.

The ‘Trophy Wife’ star wore a striking beaded Naeem Khan gown from the Spring 2014 collection.

The gown is a visual masterpiece, existing somehow in between a tribal print and something art deco-inspired, and Malin chose Jimmy Choo ‘Greta’ sandals, a black clutch, cocktail ring and simple black stud earrings to accompany the statement-making gown.

A messy updo, bronze makeup, heavy eyelashes and nude lips are the perfect beauty accents to top off the glitzy look.
