Jessica Lange In Gucci – 2017 Emmy Awards

Jessica Lange attended the 2017 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 17) in Los Angeles.

For the occasion, the Hollywood icon chose a Gucci gown, Jimmy Choo shoes and Neil Lane jewels.

When it comes to red carpets, Ms. Lange has seen a few, which says to me, she knows what she’s doing! This look completely confirms my suspicions. The velvet is both striking and completely on-trend this season, the gold detailing offers drama and elegance, and the neckline offers us just enough skin to keep things from being too mumsy.

The concepts of this gown (velvet, gold sequins) could easily read ‘dated’, but Gucci knows how to make a gown, and Jessica knows how to wear one!

Julia Louis Dreyfus In Carolina Herrera – 2017 Emmy Awards

Julia-Louis Dreyfus hit the red carpet of the 2017 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 17) in Los Angeles.

The ‘Veep’ actress and nominee wore a custom Carolina Herrera Resort 2018 gown and striking emerald jewels.

Julia is just such a class act. I always love how she carries herself on the carpet and how much fun she has with the classic looks she chooses. That said, this gown is simply perfect for her. Classic red carpet lines but with the added fun of the yellow floral.

Her styling is also completely on point: Her voluminous curls, healthy tan, the glossy nude lip: Talk about a #ladyboss!

Alessandra Mastronardi In Chanel Couture – 2017 Emmy Awards

Alessandra Mastronardi attended the 2017 Emmy Awards in Sunday (September 17) in Los Angeles.

The ‘Master of None’ actress wore a Chanel Spring 2017 Couture gown with a diamond cuff bracelet and gold pumps.

This dress is such a modern version of Chanel, and it’s quite fun. The neckline is completely unique, while the fabric is intrinsically Chanel, and the skirt is the perfect 80s-trend throwback. It’s definitely a completely unique approach to the Emmy’s fashion, and while I wasn’t sure at first, I genuinely like this look!

I do wish that the skirt has the same volume we saw on the runway, but kudos to Alessandra for bringing this unique point-of-fashion-view to the night.

Jaimie Alexander In Naeem Khan – 2017 Emmy Awards

Jaimie Alexander attended the 2017 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 17) in Los Angeles.

The star wore a striking Naeem Khan Pre-Fall 2017 gown with Schutz ‘Fostoria’ heels and Eva Fehren diamond spear earrings.

Jaimie has such an innately edgy vibe, and I love this gown choice for her. We don’t often see print on the red carpet, and she is the perfect person to bring this totally cool gown to life on the carpet.

Her hair and makeup choices complete the super cool vibe of this look.

Halston Sage In Zac Posen – 2017 Emmy Awards

Halston Sage attended the 2017 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 17) in Los Angeles.

For the big night, the ‘The Orville’ actress chose to wear a Zac Posen Resort 2018 gown with subtle diamond Chopard jewels.

Would you just look at these details? I’m completely blown away by the lines, draping and fabric of this gown. It is absolute perfection and truly Zac Posen at his very best.

My only complaint here is that this very well may be the most gorgeous gown on the red carpet tonight, and I fear it won’t get the attention it deserves on such an unknown actress!

Reese Witherspoon In Stella McCartney – 2017 Emmy Awards

Reese Witherspoon worked the red carpet at the 2017 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 17) in Los Angeles.

The ‘Big Little Lies’ actress wore a Stella McCartney satin suit dress, Christian Louboutin ‘Decoltish’ pumps and dramatic diamond jewels.

Oh boy, here we go. I can already sense that this is going to be divisive: I don’t like this look. Yes, I said it. I normally love suiting looks for women on the red carpet, but this just really isn’t working for me. I’m not sure if it’s the sheen of the fabric or how plain jane it is, but I find it quite ‘blah’.

All that withstanding, Reese’s hair, makeup, and holy cow–legs–are perfection.

So let’s hear it–how is loving this, and who stands with me in the not feeling it section?
