Zhang Ziyi In Zuhair Murad – 50th Golden Horse Awards After Party

Zhang Ziyi In Zuhair Murad - 50th Golden Horse Awards After Party

Zhang Ziyi switched things up at the 50th Golden Horse Awards after party, changing from one embellished gown to the next.

The Best Leading Actress winner — who wore Chanel Couture to the main event — chose a beautiful black Zuhair Murad floor-length creation with a sheer neckline and all-over flower appliqué design.

She paired her delicately feminine gown with equally light accents: tiny diamond drop earrings, natural makeup, and a sophisticated updo.

I wish the starlet had worn this number to the awards show instead. It’s undeniably lovely on her, much more so than the Chanel look from earlier in the evening.

Kristen Wiig In Martin Grant – ‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues’ Sydney Premiere

Kristen Wiig In Martin Grant - ‘Anchorman 2 The Legend Continues’ Sydney Premiere

Kristen Wiig continued her stay Down Under with an appearance at the Sydney premiere of ‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues’ on Saturday.

The actress joined Kirsten Dunst on the red carpet, selecting a black, wide-leg Martin Grant jumpsuit with Victorian-esque buttons down the bodice for the occasion. This ensemble was a far cry from her sunnier J. Mendel choice days earlier at ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty’ premiere, but certainly stayed true to Kristen’s long-standing penchant for jumpsuits.

Christian Louboutin peep-toe shoes, chunky Saint Laurent gold cuff, and black belt cinched at the waist provided minimalist flare, while her darker lip colour gave the look its finish.

I can’t say I hate this look, but I’m not quite enamoured of it either. It’s just nothing to write home about.

Agree or disagree?

Olivia Palermo In Burberry Prorsum – ‘Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom’ Special New York Screening

Olivia Palermo In Burberry Prorsum - ‘Mandela Long Walk To Freedom’ Special New York Screening

Olivia Palermo attended a special screening of ‘Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom’ at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City last night.

The socialite showed faint signs of finally coming back to her styling senses, although it’s not totally clear if she’s ready to resume her role of “consummately well-dressed.”

In true Olivia fashion, she dressed in a mix of patterns and textures, wearing a black-buttoned trench coat with a patterned collar over a black, sequin-covered Burberry Prorsum Resort 2014 skirt and black cardigan with white buttons.

A quirky black-and-silver flower necklace, black boots, and her go-to dewy makeup and middle-parted hair completed the look.

Is this outfit a reflection of the Olivia we know and love — or is she still doing a little too much and too little all at once?

Laura Vandervoort In BCBG Max Azia – Tommy Hilfiger And P.S. ARTS celebrate the Cameron Silver Vintage Capsule Collection

Laura Vandervoort In BCBG Max Azia - Tommy Hilfiger And PS ARTS celebrate the Cameron Silver Vintage Capsule Collection

Laura Vandervoort celebrated the launch of Cameron Silver’s vintage capsule collection for Tommy Hilfiger at the latter’s flagship store in West Hollywood, California on Thursday.

The actress looked slick in a white BCBG Max Azria suit, consisting of a boxy lapel-adorned blazer and ankle-cut skinny trousers.

All it took to keep this chic outfit on point was a series of understated accessories — in this case, a pair of green Danielle Queller earrings, a textured Edie Parker clutch, and peachy pointy-toe pumps.

Dark eye makeup and a sleek, straight chop finished things off nicely.

This menswear-inspired look is a win for me, much in part to the trifecta of sex appeal, femininity, and a powerful edge.

What do you think?

Citymeals-on-Wheels 27th Annual ‘Power Lunch for Women’

Citymeals-on-Wheels 27th Annual Power Lunch for Women

On Friday, Citymeals-On-Wheels hosted its 27th annual Power Lunch for Women at The Plaza Hotel in New York City — and as is to be expected, the stars in attendance dressed the part of “ladies who lunch.”

Padma Lakshmi: The ‘Top Chef’ host chose a nude-coloured Roland Mouret sheath with a simple black bow-tie sash at the waist. While cut at the knee, her cap-sleeved number showed off ample cleavage via a low boxed-out neckline — it’s certainly a sexier daytime silhouette, but one that she pulled off without a hitch. A gold pendant necklace and embellished pumps completed the look.

Brooke Shields: Just two days after Victoria Beckham wore her own tri-colour Fall 2013 dress, Brooke Shields stepped out in the same exact frock across the pond, styling it with black pumps, a textured black clutch, and gold cuff. While I love the bright pattern, this dress wasn’t the most flattering choice.

Debra Messing: The actress stepped out in a long-sleeved black dress with silver-band details at the waist and bodice. Her futuristic fashion statement — or attempt at one — was accessorized with large earrings, black clutch, black heels, and a silver smokey eye.

Knee-length hems aside, these looks ran the gamut. Have a favourite, or is this power lunch a fashion miss?

Juliette Lewis In Reem Acra – The Weinstein Company’s Holiday Party

Juliette Lewis In Reem Acra - The Weinstein Company's Holiday Party

Juliette Lewis attended the Weinstein Company’s holiday party at RivaBella in West Hollywood, California on last Thursday evening.

The actress selected a white Reem Acra Resort 2014 dress with contrasting black lace cap sleeves, which she paired with H. Stern drop earrings, a fuchsia Amanda Pearl clutch, and strappy black Jimmy Choo sandals.

A berry-coloured lip, rosy cheeks, and swept-back hair completed the look.

While I don’t think it’s one of her looks as of late, Juliette has proved once again that her style has evolved into something much more elegant and composed.

Are you enjoying her “grown-up” style, or are you wishing for a wild-side comeback?
