Brooke Anderson In David Meister – Oscars 2014

Brooke Anderson In David Meister - Oscars 2014

The first to arrive on the red carpet for the 2014 Oscars red carpet at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre tonight (March 2) were none other than the television hosts.

Entertainment Tonight correspondent Brooke Anderson arrived wearing a cobalt blue, one-shoulder, lace David Meister gown. She accessorized with a Tasha box clutch, Dior shoes and oversized earrings by XIV KARATS.

Cobalt blue has been wildly popular lately placing Brooke right on trend. Otherwise the dress is only so-so. The ruching in the midsection and lackluster cut makes her look more like she’s heading to prom than the Oscars and the earring doesn’t pair well.

We know you’re working but step it up a notch. This is the Oscars!

Lena Headey In Jenny Packham – 2014 SAG Awards

Lena Headey In Jenny Packham - 2014 SAG Awards

Lena Headey made an impression on the red carpet at the 2014 SAG Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Saturday (January 18) in Los Angeles.

The ‘Game of Thrones’ actress wore a bold dress from Jenny Packham Spring 2014 with navy, open toe shoes by Ferragamo.

I expect that this dress will be polarizing but I love it. The sheen of the material, the unusual color combination, the halter neckline, the pussy bow, the stripes running in different directions – it’s all working for me. I only wish that we got to see the dress in motion to get the full impact of the design, like on the runway.

The dress is busy so a simple topknot was a great choice.

I think Lena’s sartorial risk paid off. Do you?

Helen Mirren In Escada – 2014 SAG Awards

Helen Mirren In Escada - 2014 SAG Awards

Dame Helen Mirren showed up women half her age at the 2014 SAG Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Saturday (January 18) in Los Angeles.

The ‘Phil Spector’ actress, who won for Outstanding Actress in a film or miniseries, wore an exquisite Escada Pre-Fall 2014 gown with a Jimmy Choo clutch, Dolce and Gabbana shoes and Neil Lane jewelry.

Helen has mastered the art of looking both seductive and age appropriate, which is no small feat at the age of 68. The incredibly unique beading and embroidery is of course the highlight of the gown but the wide sash, voluminous skirt and illusion sleeves all contribute to the perfection.

Slicked back hair, which has been trending this season, shows off Helen’s black and gold chandelier earrings and a red lip pulls the whole thing together.

Dame Helen looked positively regal. Another best-dressed nominee.

Amy Adams In Antonio Berardi – 2014 SAG Awards

Amy Adams In Antonio Berardi - 2014 SAG Awards

Amy Adams continues to have a strong showing this awards season at the Shrine Auditorium on Saturday (January 18) in Los Angeles for the 2014 SAG Awards.

The ‘American Hustle’ actress sported a blue Antonio Berardi dress with an embellished crystal waistline and accessorized with a Ferragamo clutch and Jimmy Choo ‘Vibe’ platform sandals.

Blue is an outstanding color with Amy’s coloring and this dress was an absolute stunner thanks to its architectural neckline and shoulder cutout. The great fit, waist detail and sexy slit didn’t hurt either.

The sculptural faux bob is good on its own but Amy amps it up with a coral lip and green earrings.

I wouldn’t change a thing. Best dressed nominee.

Julie Bowen In Carolina Herrera – 2014 SAG Awards

Julie Bowen In Carolina Herrera - 2014 SAG Awards

Julie Bowen mixed it up on the red carpet Saturday evening (January 18) in Los Angeles at the 2014 SAG Awards.

The ‘Modern Family’ actress, who isn’t known for being sartorially adventurous, made one of her boldest choices to date in a dress from Carolina Herrera Spring 2014 and dramatic drop earrings. She finished the look off with a Rauwolf clutch and Jerome C. Rousseau shoes.

The burnt orange, brown and white dress featured a color-blocked bodice and graphic skirt. Everything about the dress from the color combination to the graphic is unusual yet it somehow all works.

A Brigitte Bardot-inspired ponytail was another fashion-forward choice executed to perfection.

It’s exciting to see Julie having fun with fashion and even more exciting to see her pull it off.
