Beyonce Knowles Rocks Dundas, Gucci, Givenchy, Balmain & More For Her ‘On The Run II’ Tour
The ‘On the Run II Tour’ opened in Cardiff, Wales last week, where we were treated to another selection of eye-popping custom looks from Beyonce Knowles, who has enlisted the help of Claire Waight Keller for Givenchy, Gucci, Peter Dundas, Mugler, LaQuan Smith and Olivier Rousteing for Balmain.
In Glasgow she lit up the stage wearing a Dundas. While gold embroidered icon mini dress with front scarlet heart motif was very much expected, the purple silk gazar cape with gold alphabet embroidery gave this look a regal aura. The look was styled with the very popular Roberi & Fraud ‘Doris’ shades.
I love this Bonnie and Clyde moment which sees Beyonce wearing a custom LaQuan Smith crystal mesh blazer and bodysuit, while Jay-Z look so cool in his white Givenchy suit. I do wonder what it would’ve been like for Beyonce to perform in a hot stadium with those PVC boot though.
Beyonce had her own Givenchy moment. Clare Waight Keller created a bodysuit with an oversized bow detail adapted from the Fall 2018 collection, paired with a long, detachable skirt in bonded lace, hand-embroidered with crystals. As I’m so used to the bodysuit look from Bey, I love the romance of the look with the skirt.
Yep, there were more bodysuits to be had. This custom Mugler patent leather corset and bodysuit combo styled with suspender-style boots and a matching hat had more than a hint of dominatrix about it.
Logomania was in full-effect when Beyonce hit the stage wearing a custom Dapper Dan-Gucci camel GG hooded jacket and over-the-knee boots. The unexpected portion of this look is the Gucci crystal and aged metal harness and head piece, but they made for quite a dramatic twist.
Olivier Rousteing, who created Beyonce’s Coachella customs, created this mosaic tiled piece with matching boots. I really admire how Beyonce is able to perform in the energetic way she does wearing these pieces. This one looks particularly delicate. I can image her booty popping those tiles right off her skirt after one hip shake.
Bey was the queen of the jungle in the leopard print print bodysuit and Tom Ford Fall 2018 jacket combo which was perhaps one of the more risque looks from her tour so far.
No doubt more looks will be added to this ‘OTR II’ tour that is scheduled to play 48 dates in Europe and North America through October 4th, 2018.
