Front Row @ Dior Cruise 2019

There were stars aplenty at the front row of the Dior Cruise 2019 show in Chantilly, France on Friday (May 25).

Olivia Cooke: The ‘Ready Player One’ actress’s Dior white embroidered blouse with white wool and silk crepe shorts and skirt had a unified finish but plenty of interesting detail. From this position, the effect of the layered bottoms is almost lost. It would have been better if there was a greater separation of the pieces or if there was only one. Dior shoes and a Dior ‘Pochette’ printed clutch contrasted the snowy hues.

Paris Jackson The model played straight into a bohemian aesthetic in a Dior multicolor patchwork dress which was accessorized with a Dior ‘Defile Summer’ bag, plenty of necklaces and strappy sandals. Given the ornate detail of the dress, I’m sure some would have favored a cleaner look, but it feels true to who she is.

Charlie Heaton: The ‘Stranger Things’ actor struck a pose in a Dior Homme red wool and mohair barathea double-breasted jacket with hand-stitched ‘Signature’ embroidery and ‘Christian Dior Atelier’ label. It’s clean, crisp and modern, and he is projecting such an air of confidence in it.

Natalia Dyer: Charlie’s costar gravitated towards long layers in a Dior white embroidered bustier dress and black wool coat. The styling made the popular sheer skirt feel fresh. The Dior beret and Dior boots added a glamorous punky sentiment while the Dior saddle bag in ‘Peace and Love’ patchwork brought a playful twist.

Arizona Muse: Oozing refined elegance, the model wore a flowing white Dior dress. If it looks familiar, Rihanna previously wore it, but presented a much sexier take. She opted for a more conservative look with the white slip underneath the eyelet fabric. Which do you prefer?

Alexa Chung: Embracing the suiting trend, the British beauty dazzled in Dior Pre-Fall 2018. The metallic sheen is au courant but the nipped waist and rounded shoulders bring to mind the designer’s classic New Look silhouette.

Alexandra Shipp: The ‘Love, Simon’ actress toughened up a feminine silhouette with her Dior black leather dress. The Dior gold studded booties, Dior saddle bag and chunky necklaces present an edgy but playful finish.

Billie Lourd: The former ‘Scream Queens’ actress had a fun turn in a Dior black embroidered dotted tulle dress. The colourful detailing enlivens the black fabric and helps to lighten the alluring mood of the sheer fabric and open neckline.

Grace Van Patten The beauty made a statement in a Dior black silk top with a black leather caged skirt, Dior ‘Surreal-D’ shoes and a Dior clutch. It brought to mind Araya A. Hargate’s look. With the harmonious inky colour palette and dramatic volume, it had a captivating finish. It will be interesting to see whether it becomes as popular as the sheer skirts.

Florence Pugh: Another beauty in black, she wore a Dior black silk dress and carried a ‘J’adior’ bag. The translucent fabric is a tricky thing as it’s neither here nor there so some could be questioning whether it’s actually meant to be sheer or whether it was an accident. Assuming it is, it presented a coquettish finish with the flirty ruffles. It wasn’t as stark as some gossamer styles.
