Cate Blanchett In Alexander McQueen – ‘The Man Who Killed Don Quixote’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere & Closing Ceremony

Saving the best for last, Cate Blanchett stepped out at ‘The Man Who Killed Don Quixote’ premiere and Cannes Film Festival closing ceremony on Saturday (May 19), joining Kristen Stewart and Olga Kurylenko.

The president of the jury brought such drama with her Alexander McQueen Fall 2018 ensemble with Chopard jewels.

Seamlessly bringing together impeccably sharp tailoring with alluring liquid draping, it was unlike anything we had seen before and had such a mind-blowing effect.

When she turned around, the draped bow back was just as magnificent, creating the impression of wings.

For those who were fed up with the on slot of sheer, heavily embellished styles, this hopefully delighted.

I am going to be in the minority and say I don’t like this as much. It is unique and editorial but it didn’t translate that well on to the red carpet. Also, that hair is bothersome.

Terrific. The red carpet version looks so much better than the runway where it was kind of “conceptual”, undeveloped.

What an interesting concept for a dress (is it a dress?).

I heard there will be a cocktail version available at stores.

    it’s spelled onslaught.

      I know, right?

The dress really did wear her, which is kind of surprising.

    Terrific run by Ms Blanchett
This will be on my BDOTY list for sure
Together with probably 1 or 2 of her other looks

She wears clothes beautifully (I know it sounds obvious and but it is so incredibly true)

I think that with Kidman a few years ago – she is the best dressed juror in the festival history

Woah! GAGGING! This is a Cannes moment! I LOVE IT!

  8. Alina May 20, 2018 at 06:38 #

It’s growing on me, but I can’t say I’m a fan of the giant bow.

  9. cs May 20, 2018 at 05:50 #

    BDOTY candidate for me.

Floored, the back really makes the look – unprecedented take on a tux dress, and Cate’s assertive presence sells it. BDOTY worthy.

Wow, what a dress. The tailoring and design is incredible. Thank goodness for Cate and bringing such refreshing fashion to Cannes. She can do no wrong!

To me the dress over-shadowed her

This is cool AF. It’s just…sharp and sleek and futuristic and it was made for her.

  14. Cássia May 19, 2018 at 23:37 #

She can do no wrong! What an amazing run!

  15. Caroline May 19, 2018 at 23:02 #

This is one of her worst looks ever.

    BDOTY for our Queen!

  17. Vizual Ninja May 19, 2018 at 22:51 #

What a Queen. I’m not too fond of the red lapel details at the front but everything else is great: the modification in length and awesome bow cape at the back.

This is so unique I love it !

Wow. So different from any other gown.

  21. Charlotte May 19, 2018 at 22:43 #

    Amazing!
Makes me think she would be perfect to be the big vilain in the next Bond movie.

I was very disappointed by Léa Seydoux and her exclusive Vuitton run, fortunately Cate didn’t disappoint ans she ends this with a big bang!

If feminism could be represented in a dress…this is it.
