Jennifer Connelly In Louis Vuitton – ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

If you thought Jennifer Connelly would break her stride and do something different, like a tulle ball gown, for the Cannes Film Festival premiere of ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ this evening (May 15), you were in dreamland.

The actress was of course in Louis Vuitton, wearing a modified look from the Fall 2018 collection.

Some might regards this as ‘not-Cannes-worthy,’ but I love how it felt so right for the Star Wars premiere.

It has a futuristic vibe, and I have a sneaky feeling it was deliberately selected as it mildly resembles the iconic Stormtrooper.

So for that, I think it was a smart move. As a gown this wouldn’t have worked.

Again like the Deadpool red carpet it’s not the star of the film but the spouse of the star of the film who dressed in theme. Basically men can only wear uniforms and have to bring along their women to the themed dressing :C

Can Jennifer stop wearing Louis Vuitton already?

+1. It never works! It’s some bizarre ‘fashion-forward-that-never-works’ aesthetic.

Yeah, nice look for a premiere, but not one that’s happening in Cannes. LV should have made her a gown… or let her wear another designer.

    supreme ugly

I love Jennifer but I hate this h2t.
It looks cheap and dated (especially the shoes).

She looks badass, perfect for Star Wars, I agree about the shoes though, they are pretty ugly but she’s selling everything else to me.

I hate the Jennifer Connelly-LV pairing. Hate it.

She is lucky she is absolutely gorgeous because this outfit is ridiculous. And I don’t even have words for the shoes… Just awful.

How can we stop Louis Vuitton? I’m so so so so so tired of its ugly dresses dominating the red carpet

This looks like something we have seen her in 100 times before. Way to casual for Cannes. She (like many others) is just not a natural fit for LV.

  9. Pheephee May 15, 2018 at 23:46 #

Icky. I cannot stand her in LV. She looks so sleazy every time.
It never looks right for her and this is just another example.

I love this! She was just there as a plus one and I respect that she makes sure to never steal the spotlight from the actual cast when she attends one of her husbands premieres, unlike some other celebrities. Also, it feels very on point for a Star Wars premiere and she’s gorgeous and I think this is a really cool look.

I’m soooooo bored of Louis Vuitton on the red carpet. I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say that I actively dislike about 90% of it. Including this.

No matter the theme of the movie this is still a no. At an LA premiere maybe, not for Cannes.

She looks ravishing and cool/sleek as always. She’s also supporting her husband Paul Bethany who is in the film, so she made the right choice. Wearing it short was still good for the venue, but doesn’t overshadow the main stars of the film!

Ugh, you are right about the Storm Trooper reference, now I can’t unseen it and feel a helmet is missing. 🙁

  15. J. May 15, 2018 at 20:56 #

It appears she didn’t want to steal the spotlight from her husband and the rest of the cast (it’s THEIR movie after all) and to me there’s nothing classier than that.

And she is so ridiculously beautiful and poised that I can get past the shoes, the Vuitton the everything..just look at that face!

    • Lolapin12 May 15, 2018 at 21:14 #

Totally agree with your comments! I mean come on she has had 3 kids, and could still work a short dress and look hot as hell is amazing. We, ladies get more beautiful as we age!

Stop with Vuitton! The shoes are ugly and the dress is boring, as best.
I miss her Noah promo tour when she was wearing McQueen and Givenchy.
