Meghan Markle In Black Halo’s Popular Jackie O Dress

Meghan Markle, who’s making women’s empowerment her passion cause as a soon-to-be royal family member, attended the Women’s Empowerment reception hosted by Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting on Thursday (April 19) in London, England.

Those of you who have been around since the beginning of RCFA will immediately recoginse Meghan’s Black Halo Jackie O dress, which came in every colour imaginable.

The Jackie O was worn Tyra Banks, Scarlett Johansson, Kim Kardashian, Kelly Ripa, Blake Lively, Paris Hilton and many other celebrities around 2007 – 2012. It was worn so much that Jezebel named it, “The Dress That Won’t Die”.

Proving how popular this LBD continues to be, with its subtle-yet-flattering details: a draped asymmetrical neckline, knee length, and belted at the waist, the dress still looks as classic now, as it did back then.

Meghan styled her look with Aquazzura pumps, and carried a Gucci black velvet mini Dionysus clutch.

I never has any ad issue!
    Nothing is appearing to me!
    BTW thanks for everything Catherine
    Such a daily pleasure !

I’ve got a theory that what we’ve been seeing from Meghan are pieces that are apart of Meghan’s exisiting wardrobe (pre-royal engagement) updated with current accessories.

Since she’s no longer earning a salary and not officially royal yet with a small stipend for wardrobe, I’m thinking once she is official we’ll see a continuation of her modern style but even more elegant and fashion-forward.

She continues to stay true to her personal aesthetic and that I respect because I prefer she makes mistakes and takes chances rather than do what’s expected and bore us.

Fingers crossed she blows us away with her wedding dress!

Am I the only one whp doesn’t have an invasion of ads? Really weird to see some many comments about this isses. I have adblock plus AND adblock and have not a single issue regarding ads.

  4. JHH April 20, 2018 at 15:34 #

ITA with everything meme said below. I just ignore the ads for the benefit of having the site and yes, MM looks great here. Nothing to nitpick from me. I have this dress and there are some dresses that just work on many body types and this is one of them.

  5. Felícia April 20, 2018 at 14:50 #

Just a suggestion concerning the ads problem. As the main focus is obviously the content area, you could float the video to the right, that way it covers only the sidebar. I’m saying this because sometimes my reading is interrupted by the video, and I’d like to help you find a solution for it

    • Catherine Kallon April 20, 2018 at 19:43 #

Thank you for all your feedback. I will pass this onto the developer of the ad and see if any changes can be made.

  6. meme April 20, 2018 at 14:49 #

I love this site and missed it terribly when it was gone so I’m not going to complain. That said, MM looks fabulous H2T. And those shoes!!!!

    • Leandra April 21, 2018 at 07:41 #

But as far as I remember you were one of the 1rst to complain about KK ads here…

  7. AnnaP April 20, 2018 at 13:52 #

Please don’t moan about this site – remember how we all missed it when it went for a year. If you don’t like the ads, don’t visit the site. Try and find another fashion blog as good (you won’t)!

As for MM, she is already a fashion icon. Simply stunning!

    • Leandra April 20, 2018 at 14:09 #

Don’t be silly. If we don’t visit the site, the site ceases to exist. We love her and we are making constructive comments. It’s not good politics to annoy the readers. She has to find a balance, a fine tune for it.

      • AnnaP April 20, 2018 at 14:15 #

I’m sure if a few moaners don’t visit the site, it will have little impact. Most of us will put up with the ads especially if Catherine says they are necessary, in order to be treated to the wonderful blog.

        • Crystalline April 20, 2018 at 14:50 #

I love this blog so much I wouldn’t mind the ad even if it’s invasive. As long as this blog can survive.

          • Catherine Kallon April 20, 2018 at 19:45 #

Thanks for all your feedback. I will pass this on to the developer of the ads. it is helpful.

    • Charlotte April 20, 2018 at 14:43 #

      We’re not moaning.
We love this site too and that’s what we’re talking about some issues that we may have with some invasive ads.
It’s up to Catherine to take our comments into consideration or not, it’s her site, so at the end of the day she’ll do what she wants, and what she can, of course.

  8. SilentVisitor April 20, 2018 at 13:41 #

Simple and effective! it looks like she adores Aquazzura shoes

  9. Leandra April 20, 2018 at 13:33 #

The dress has a super flattering silhouette. I own 2 of them and always get compliments, the white one is particularly sophisticated.
Megan looks divine. She easily will become a fashion icon.

    • Mimi April 20, 2018 at 14:44 #

      +1

  10. Fee April 20, 2018 at 12:35 #

She wears it better than any of the others.

  11. Silvia April 20, 2018 at 12:30 #

Those new hovering ads are SO annoying, please get rid of them.

    • Catherine Kallon April 20, 2018 at 12:37 #

I am sorry you find them annoying.

Unfortunately without the ads the site will not survive.

These ads are on People, Vogue and other sites and I don’t see anyone making comments on there.

If readers shoppped the links on the site then I wouldn’t need the ads, but unfortunately they are not.

      • Leandra April 20, 2018 at 13:36 #

“If readers shoppped the links on the site…” I click on the item and m redirected to nowhere. It happened several times to me.
I agree that you have to accept ads but right now up to 75% of the site is about ads. The site is losing that special appeal that brought us here.

        • Camilla April 20, 2018 at 13:58 #

Yes, that’s happening – I wonder if it concerns browser (I have the same issue on Google Chrome) and it may be something to resolve to keep the site going and get perhaps lost revenue! 🙂

          • Leandra April 20, 2018 at 14:10 #

            I use Mozzila.

        • Catherine Kallon April 20, 2018 at 14:07 #

Ok. I need to look into why this is happening. Thanks for the feedback.

          • meme April 20, 2018 at 14:47 #

            Catherine,
I find the ads only happen on my iPad or phone. On my desktop at work and my laptop, the ads rarely appear. Also, I use Chrome as my browser. Maybe that will help some people.

    • Charlotte April 20, 2018 at 12:38 #

I agree! It’s awful! Please try to find some ads less invasive.

As for Meghan Markle, I love this dress on her. It fits her perfectly, her styling is easy and works well with the derss, especially the hairstyle.

      • Catherine Kallon April 20, 2018 at 12:53 #

The ads do not have any sound. They hoover to the left and don’t go over the text. I am not quite sure how they are invasive.

I’m sorry, but the site can not survive without them.

        • Charlotte April 20, 2018 at 13:07 #

There’s a video who moves on the page and it goes on the text and on pictures.
I understand that you need ads on the site but this one is really annoying

          • Mimi April 20, 2018 at 14:44 #

I can vouch for this, they don’t always go to the left, and cover up text and pictures

        • Maz April 20, 2018 at 14:34 #

This site is my addiction so it pains me to say it but I have the same problem charlotte describes in terms of the video going over the text…didn’t used to happen. Hopefully it’s useful feedback FC xx

          • The original AB April 20, 2018 at 17:22 #

This ads block the text for me also. It only happens for me on my laptop not on my smartphone. It only started happening recently.

          • Catherine Kallon April 20, 2018 at 19:46 #

thank you. it is helpful. I wasn’t having the same issue to I appreciate this.

    • Mimi April 20, 2018 at 14:40 #

seriously, they cover up everything and it makes it very hard to read and comment.
