2018 ACM Awards Roundup

There was no shortage of eye-catching styles at the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday (April 15) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Attendees joined Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Nettles and Karen Fairchild.

Maddie Marlow: Looking like an ethereal beauty in Maria Lucia Hohan, I’m sure some people might have mistaken her for Saoirse Ronan at first glance. There is a lot of ornate detailing on the pastel stunner, but it sometimes gets lost in photographs. The pink Tyler Ellis clutch couldn’t be missed.

Taylor Dye: The other half of Maddie & Tae opted for a darker ensemble in a Kate Spade New York Madison Avenue Lilliane dress. The trailing blooms gave the silhouette great movement. A Tyler Ellis clutch and strappy shoes added some colour.

Cassadee Pope: The singer looked sharp in an Ermanno Scervino suit. The mix of satin and velvet had a luxurious air. She styled the separates sans shirt for a sexy finish. The accessories tied into the sharp lines of the suit without distracting from the tailoring.

Rebecca Romojn: The actress turned heads in a Uel Camilo gown. It had a hypnotic quality from the multicolored embellishment, but I question the placement and the design and whether it draws the eye in the best manner. I also think a belt could have helped elevate the look. Jewels by L’Dezen by Payal Shah and a Simran Rihal clutch finished things off.

Cam: The country singer was one of many who embraced soft hues in a breezy Maria Lucia Hohan dress. The pleated silhouette had a relaxed glamour when combined delicate sandals, but the length is neither here nor there.

Danielle Bradbery: Another beauty in Maria Lucia Hohan, the ‘Sway’ singer went for a soft finish in a flowing tulle gown. Despite the subdued colour palette, the style comes across as disjointed from where the skirt suddenly goes from the blush pink to white. Had the top been pink and the skirt white, it would have had a more fluid finish.

Raelynn: The ‘WildHorse’ singer also embraced an ethereal mood in a Monsoori gown. While sheer skirts have proven to be tricky, I think the diaphanous layers on her skirt are an example of how the detail can work in harmony with the rest of a dress while revealing a hint of skin. The touch of green embellishment in the floral lace adds a refreshing pop of colour while playing up the whimsical sentiment.
