Lily Collins In Reem Acra – Cartier Mid-Winter Gala

Lily Collins was a vision at the Cartier Mid-Winter Gala in San Francisco, California on Friday (April 6).

The ‘To the Bone’ actress made a dramatic statement in a Reem Acra Pre-Fall 2018 ensemble.

This golden pumpkin shade is not something that we see a lot of on the red carpet, but it creates such a luxurious statement while bringing out the golden tones in her necklace.

I’m sure there will be some who will deem the colour palette as too Halloween-y, but I think it’s successful with the black cropped top adding a moody undercurrent to the atypical orange.

Had the outfit been one colour, it might have been overwhelming.

What do you think?

Well I just love this 🙂

The top in rich blue or a purple would have been better.

Waist up she’s lovely. The pooling fabric is just too too much.

Agree that Lily is too petite for this look. One reason why it worked better in the lookbook is because the model has wider shoulders than Lily, so the wide V of the neckline balances the volume in the skirt. On Lily the dress just hangs more or less straight up and down and looks limp as a result.

I like this. That shade of orange is divine.

Lily Collins is my style crush, but I have to say this Reem Acra gown is not my cup of tea. From the waist up, STUNNING!! Love the slick hair and red lip against the black crop-top, however the pumpkin ruffled taffeta skirt might screams too overwhelming on her petite figure. Sorry Lily, this got a no from me, better luck next time sweetie!!

This dress just looks messy on her. Not that I find the dress appealing in the lookbook either.
Also the styling is off. The lipstick totally doesn’t work with this.

It’s too much of a dress for her. Surprisingly, I like the skirt.

i like this as presented in the look book, but I agree with the other posters, that Lily Collins is too petite for this dress.

The top needs a curvier woman and the skirt needs a taller woman.

I don’t like it at all but it definitely is way too much for Lily Collins.

Lily Collins is very petite and this is just too much dress for her so it ends up looking messy. I agree with Charlotte about the top. I did not think Halloween from this though because the orange is not Halloween orange or at least it’s not on my screen. That being said, as a petite woman, she would probably have been better off if this had all been one color.

This look is pretty bad, it looks frumpy. Plus, the fabric looks quite cheap, too shiny, and the top is really unflattering on her.
