Menswear Red Carpet Roundup
The guys have been out in force over the past few days. Here’s a look at what they were wearing.
Tye Sheridan: At the ‘Ready Player One’ European premiere in London on Monday (March 19), warmth was a key part of Tye’s Burberry Tailoring double-breasted suit and overcoat—as opposed to some of the ladies on the red carpet like Tallia Storm. The striped, collarless dress shirt underneath was an intriguing way to finish the dapper look.
Edgar Ramirez: With a retro-forward, brown suede Brunello Cucinelli Fall 2018 suit and colour-block sweater, Edgar fit in perfectly as he joined Judith Light at the For Your Consideration event for FX’s ‘The Assassination of Gianni Versace’ on Monday (March 19) in LA.
Matthew Rhys: At the season 6 premiere of ‘The Americans’ on Friday (March 16) in Washington, D.C., alongside Keri Russell, Matthew looked sharp in one of my favoured suit shades: aubergine. I do think this Rag & Bone ensemble would have been fine without the black tie and belt.
Scott Eastwood: Swinging by ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ on Monday (March 19), Scott commanded the room in shades of blue with this Salvatore Ferragamo suit. I like his continued affinity for the polo shirting underneath for an offhand-casual vibe.
Ricky Martin: Also at the For Your Consideration panel, Ricky was ever-so-suave in an all-black Dior Homme suit—the unbuttoned shirt collar of which is what really sold the underlying sexiness of the look.
Harris Dickinson: This Rag & Bone ‘Dagger’ coat, together with the cropped trousers and socks, might not be everyone’s cup of tea. But, the offbeat nature of it was still intriguing and packed some personality—despite the leg-shortening effect.
Sam Heughan: At Starz’s ‘Outlander’ special screening in Hollywood on Sunday (March 18), the actor took a crisp, snappy approach in a Strong Suit navy ensemble punctuated by a collarless white dress shirt and gray suede boots.
Darren Criss: There was something of a throwback appeal to this three-piece suit that Darren wore at the For Your Consideration panel. But, I may also have been trying to justify what could be seen as a bit corporate drab and dated, instead.
Idris Elba: Joining the ladies at the Empire Awards on Sunday (March 18) in London, the actor presented the Inspiration Award wearing a Giorgio Armani suit that had a distinguished yet stylized effect thanks to the midnight-blue plaid print, his patterned bow tie, and those blue dress shoes.
