A number of other stars were in Austin, Texas this past weekend for the start of the 2018 SXSW Conference and Festival. Here’s a look at what they were wearing.
Carla Gugino: The actress was a beauty in blue at the ‘Elizabeth Harvest’ premiere on Saturday (Marh 10) with this vibrant, high-low variation on the iconic Diane von Furstenberg floral wrap dress. I probably would have opted for a different shoe to let her red lip and matching envelope clutch be the accessories of note, rather than bring in the additional metallic shine factor.
Jamie Chung: Making a case for colourful stripes, this was such a graphically intrepid Ronny Kobo dress—and I loved its slightly dizzying effect at the ‘1985’ premiere on Friday (March 9).
AJ Michalka: At the ‘Support the Girls’ premiere on Friday (March 9), AJ turned up the charm in a Markarian ‘Theres’ dress. The only thing about this look was that I felt the black peep-toe shoes dragged it down somewhat.
Haley Lu Richardson: I can understand why she wanted to wear sneakers with this Zimmermann Spring 2018 frock, so as to lessen the precious frill of the floral, bell-sleeved frock at the ‘Support the Girls’ premiere. But, I’m not sure it worked to her advantage, as it all seemed just a bit contrived.
Joey King: The Jimmy Choo satin-orange footwear selection for this girly, petal-pink Giamba Spring 2018 frock also gave me pause. Swarovski earrings completed her look.
Maika Monroe: At the ‘Shotgun’ premiere on Friday (March 8), Maika wore a Coach Spring 2018 slip dress that was more slip than dress.
Evan Rachel Wood: This Jason Wu colour-block, racing stripe suit was in keeping with the actress’s affinity for menswear-inspired tailoring at the Westworld Featured Session on Saturday (March 10). But, I was missing some of the sharpness and polish that she wears so well, given the out-sized proportions of the jacket and trousers this didn’t quite give off the cool vibe she was going for.
