Get The Look: Emma Stone’s Powerfully Feminine 80s Inspired Beauty

Emma Stone’s Oscars beauty look was all about recreating the magic of early 1980’s high power glamour while remaining modern in style and execution.

Celebrity makeup artist Rachel Goodwin also wanted to incorporate the statement making tones of Emma’s elegant suit and created a look with beautiful pink shades and metallic accents. Using NARS cosmetics versatile and luxurious collection, here’s how Rachel achieved this look:

FACE: After cleansing the skin, Rachel moisturized and primed the skin to ensure a smooth canvas for foundation. To achieve that flawless, fresh base, NARS Radiant Longwear Foundation was expertly blended onto Emma’s skin.

EYES: Once the skin was set, Rachel moved onto the eyes. To create that stunning burgundy diffused eye look, she used an array of shades from the NARSissist Wanted Eyeshadow Palette. The overall look was about creating a gradient effect from burgundy to soft pink, all featuring a metallic finish. Starting by concentrating the deeper shade along the upper lash the line, the luxurious shade was softly diffused to the crease. To create that soft blended even look, the pink shades were buffed into the crease. The result was a seamless eye look that was finished off with navy liner and a few coats of mascara on Emma’s lashes.

CHEEKS: Cheeks were a focal point for this look. While the glamorous women of the 1980s catered to a stronger and more defined pink blush look, Rachel borrowed elements of this classic style when creating the cheek shades for Emma’s Oscars makeup. To modernize that strong cheek, Rachel used the new NARSissist Wanted Cheek Palette and applied the soft pink shades onto the apples of Emma’s cheeks and buffed the product outwards.

LIPS: To tie in this youthful and statement-making look, Rachel chose a lip that was full of color and complemented the shades in this makeup. Using NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Let’s Go Crazy, Rachel layered the product onto Emma’s lips and finished off the lip with a transparent gloss.
