Greta Gerwig In Rosie Assoulin – 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards

Greta Gerwig presented a very summery outlook for the 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday (March 3) in Santa Monica, California.

Vintage glamour is fully captured in this Rosie Assoulin Spring 2018 open back dress.

While I like how the white lace embroidery gives the look extra feminine definition, I wasn’t a huge fan of how the dress looked from the side, as it felt like too much was going and the lines didn’t flow so freely, possibly due to the pleating at the back.

They hit it exactly right in the lookbook: sunny, sweet, playful. Nothing of that comes through on Greta sadly.

Oh goodness, it’s like a tablecloth exploded. Poor Greta.

Hmm I like this on the model, but it’s not flattering on Greta.

I actually really love this, the colour is great on her and the design is interesting and fresh while still grounded. Also, absolutely perfect for the event.

My problem is the AWFUL shoe and bag choice. Whyyyyy?!?!

  6. Fanny March 4, 2018 at 12:56 #

This light blue colour looks amazing on her.

If this fit better, the lace appliques were smaller and there were no wrinkles it would have been awesome. I love the vibe of the blue poplin on Greta

This dress made me laugh more than Ladybird did. Thanks Greta.

That side view isn’t flattering and too busy but from the front it’s an interesting look.

Gorgeous colour on her (surprised, but happy that she didn’t choose the other colour), fresh makeup and hairstyle, but the dress itself is not very flattering. A bummer.

No. Very unflattering for her body. So very.

The color is pretty but this dress is a big NO, it’s just a ugly dress

This is gorgeous and she looks so youthful!! I really love the hair and makeup as well. I honestly had no idea she was 34, based on the way she dresses I thought she was into her 40s. Really love this look for her.

What I mean to say is, her hair/makeup/outfits are usually very aging on her. This looks is fresh and fun.

The lace detailing is too much completely overpowers the dress, it reminds me of those lace place mats(what are they called?) my grandmother use to have. Her hair and beauty look is good though

I adore this dress in theory, I love the back and I love the blue with the white embroidery.

But – as you say, something does not add up in the execution. Maybe less fabric and narrower embroidery applications?

Bummer, as the colour is lovely on Greta.

All I can say is no.
