2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards Menswear Roundup

We can’t leave out the fellas from the 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday (March 3) in Santa Monica, California, especially when they were looking so fine.

Chadwick Boseman: Usually my goosebump moments are reserved for breath-taking princess gowns or Cate Blanchett when she’s on top form, but lately, every Chadwick moment is a goosebump moment. The man is on fire. And this Burberry look is a glowing testament to that fact. Styled with David Yurman accessories and Louboutin Homme shiny shoes, the actor continues to serve up unparalleled suave sophistication. He has really made menswear a joy to follow this year.

Nnamdi Asomugha: The actor was joined by his lovely wife Kerry Washington at this event wearing Dolce & Gabbana. The shoes really sold this look to me. Often guys break out of navy and black comfort zone only to opt for black shoes. Nnamdi committed to this oxblood look from head-to-toe presenting a dapper look.

Timothee Chalamet: It seems that your love for Timothee’s style has waned over the last few weeks. Here he did something different wearing Off-White. I love the idea, but dislike the execution. The skinny jeans don’t appear to be skinny enough, and the footwear is so bulky that they are almost comical. A cool pair of Common Projects would’ve been preferred.

Jordan Peele: Picking up the Best Director for his film ‘Get Out’, which also won Best Feature, Jordan wore a bright red Calvin Klein 205W39NYC double-breasted blazer. I love how bold this look is, but I found myself wanting to undo that top button on his shirt.

Kelvin Harrison Jr.: The actor found an interesting way to inject so fun into his Gucci Pre-Fall 2017 look, while still looking very smart with his embroidered blazer.

Daniel Kaluuya: I’m not excited by the fit, colour or styling of this Dolce & Gabbana suit.
