Angelina Jolie In Elie Saab Couture – 32nd Annual American Society Of Cinematographers Awards

Before her breathtaking entrance at the 2018 BAFTAs, Angelina Jolie was at the 32nd Annual American Society Of Cinematographers Awards on Saturday (February 17) in Hollywood, California, where she was presented with the Board of Governors award.

There were a couple surprises with this Elie Saab Spring 2018 Couture confection.

1. The ethereal lace gown was rendered in champagne gold, rather than Angelina’s favoured black hue.

2. It was a far more decorative, glimmering take on red-carpet glamour than we’d normally expect from her more conservative statements.

3. The same goes for the nearly fairy-tale wispiness and whimsicality of the gown that was a different direction for her.

Did it work its magic for you?

Surprise – yes. Bot not so good. I like her usual style.

While it looked beautiful on the runway, it looks shapeless on Angelina. She didn’t pull it off

The colour and shape of the dress do not work for her.

There are soooo many better Elie Saab dresses, this is just so boring.

Terrible, imo. Shapeless in a dirty dishrag color, terrible illusion netting, the underskirt looks like a slip I might pull out of a drawer when I haven’t done laundry for quite some time.

This look really would have benefited from keeping the belt from the runway – and the beautiful runway lighting!

I feel like I’m alone with this opinion, but I love it. I think she gives off a sweet, optimistic, positive air that totally makes the look, I think the colour looks good on her and like how it blends with her skin tone around the edges, I appreciate the careful lining that doesn’t way down the lightness of the dress and I think open, wavy hair goes beautifully with it.
I appreciate the step out of her comfort zone one hundred percent and applaud her for shaking things up and having some fun with fashion!

      I love it as well.

It’s not her usual look but it’s not a good look for her. The dress looks sloppy — like something a psychic/tarot card reader would wear in black.

It’s rather overwhelming and bland, though I love ES. I wish she’d go for rich colors.

    Doesn’t suit her.

She has done such an ES color and silhouette before but I think she looks good

It looks like a 1rst probe for a dress when the seamstresses wrap you with the fabric of your gown to give you an idea of the final product. It looks undone.
I envisage that if it was a darker solid colour this would be much more enthralling.

I’m suprised too see such a poor made dress being an Elie Saab design.

      good observation.
