Beyonce Knowles In Nicolas Jebran Couture – 2018 Grammy Awards

Now that I’ve seen Beyonce Knowles Nicolas Jebran Couture gown from a non-seated position, my feeling is she should’ve save her Grammy Salute To Industry Icons Honoring Jay-Z for this event.

Do you agree?

I honestly don’t really like this much at all. It feels way too sombre for the occasion and I don’t find the details particularly interesting.

Right, Bey fashion-wise always to be taken with a pinch of salt. That said, I don’t think I have ever seen two high slits work better than with this gown and silhouette. Wow!

the drawing of the gown looks interesting but… the design loses its appeal on her. the silhouette is not right for her body and the earrings, as well as the sunglasses look ridiculous with the rest of the ensemble… it’s not styled properly or tastefully

which is a pity… specially for someone like beyonce who you think would have a team helping her and the resources to easily be one of the best dressed

I wasn’t crazy about the hat though. And as for the black panthers, they are deserving of critique, yes, but also homage and respect. If you can’t see that, then it wasn’t about you or for you in the first place!!!

i found the design interesting, but is not for her curvacious beautiful body, it´s for someone who need it, in some way it´s like, gurl you don need that in your shoulders

I love this! Love the silhouette, and Beyoncé is the epitome of fierce here.

  7. EmmaWoodhouse January 29, 2018 at 16:56 #

It looks like a society matron outfit. Nah.

  8. Hunter January 29, 2018 at 16:25 #

The sleeves and accessories is level down the dress, worst dress of the night imo

She lost me with the hat, earrings and sunglasses. The earrings are too big and just don’t have enough impact when overshadowed by the hat and sunglasses. The sunglasses are forgivable but that hat. All I could think about was to sympathize with those seated behind her as they would definitely have their view obstructed by the construct of the hat. It might be a great editorial choice, but it was a little costumey and inconsiderate in a group setting. The dress has potential with the right styling. Beyoncé herself looks amazing, just seems like this look isn’t showcasing her, but trying to cover her up.

There a parts of the dress that i love, the high neck and the fit around her hips. I love the hat.
The grammys rarely produce good looks for most.

The hat and the glasses take this to costume territory, love the gown tho.

I am quite enjoying Beyoncé’s all black everything moments. As a tribute to the Black Panthers, more power to her and the concept of black self-defense and empowerment. Perhaps people will be inspired to dig deep past easy labels and learn more about the group, its times, its enemies and its legacy. Love the sunglasses.

I agree with everything you say about the meaning of the dress but I hate the sunglasses.

    • meme January 29, 2018 at 15:57 #

What the Black Panthers became is nothing to pay homage to.

  13. Silvia January 29, 2018 at 13:07 #

One of the worst dressed women, consistently.

Her hideous costume is a tribute to the violent, militant Black Panthers. Beyonce is way too full of herself and always looks ridiculous.

    • Michaboa January 29, 2018 at 13:38 #

This is actually not an ode to the Black Panthers, whom I’m sure you’ve studied in depth. Anyways, I don’t like this outfit. Her earrings are too big and there’e nothing interesting about the dress.

from the designer: Citing the 1960s Black Panther movement as a reference point—one that Beyoncé has revisited multiple times, from her Super Bowl 50 performance to Lemonade—Jebran aimed to capture the spirit of vitality with his creation. It took more than 100 hours to craft the lengthy black velvet gown from start to finish, and Jebran and his team focused on including elements that embodied strength.

As for the Black Panthers, I suggest you study history. What started out as a non-violent group ended up anything but.

Love the earrings just with a different outfit

  16. V. January 29, 2018 at 11:53 #

    Goth horror movie villainess.

  17. Alina January 29, 2018 at 11:32 #

Honestly, the dress is really unflattering – it widens her shoulders. The earrings are too big for that neckline and the headpiece and glasses are too much.

+2 I agree this is very unflattering

She overcooked the look with accessories. The hat would’ve been enough.

  19. Christine January 29, 2018 at 10:59 #

She pretty much wore the same dress from her Lemonade music video lol.

It’s not bad at all, but it’s not giving me the same impact as her Roc Nation brunch look.

    • Catherine Kallon January 29, 2018 at 11:17 #

That’s the issue. It’s second best to the previous look.

  20. Amy January 29, 2018 at 10:56 #

Sexy version of Morticia Adams. The thing with bee is she never knows when to stop so most of her outfits end up costumey.
This has some nice elements but is overall overcooked. Don’t even get me started on the giant earrings
