Lorde In Christian Dior, Celine & 3.1 Phillip Lim – 2018 MusiCares Person Of The Year Honoring Fleetwood Mac

Lorde joined Rachel Platten at the 2018 MusiCares Person Of The Year Honoring Fleetwood Mac at Radio City Music Hall on Friday (January 26) in New York City.

Ahead of her performance onstage, she was on the red carpet in a Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2018 embellished gown with a certain darkly romantic-punk ethos that the singer often favours. However, I know eyes are rolling at another sheer Dior design.

Ironically, Lorde’s on-stage look was far less edgy, as she wore a tailored Celine tuxedo and 3.1 Phillip Lim trouser power suit. The proportions were the stylistically provocative element here, with the high waist and wide leg of the trousers. So, the nipped-and-tucked blazer and blouse were a fitting match to balance it out.

What did you make of her two black looks?

Both looks are just ugly…the Dior one is the worst

Another ugly sheer Dior dress that would still look ugly if it were lined. The second look would be fine if it were tailored properly.

The second is fine. Very her.
The first is a definite no.

The Celine out of the two, of course.

I don’t like either. The sheer is overrated and so done to death. The second look is sloppy

      +1

I can’t say no enough to the first look — so tired of these looks especially from Dior. Second looks okay. Is neither overwhelming nor underwhelming. It just is.
