Front Row @ Valentino Spring 2018 Couture

The Valentino Spring 2018 Couture show was on Wednesday (January 24) during Paris Fashion Week, with a front row featuring plenty of Valentino beauties.

Kate Hudson: The actress has been serving up some sweet looks lately, and this Valentino Pre-Fall 2018 frock stay right in line with that girly vibe by virtue of its short length styled with dotted tights and platform shoes. Yet, her sleek hair and elegant earrings reflected the sophistication of the sculpted bodice, preventing the look from becoming too twee.

Shailene Woodley: While this Valentino Pre-Fall 2018 flared mini was certainly on the short side, I loved seeing Shailene have some flirty, youthful fun with fashion. The boots were the right way to wrap up this leopard-print dress—and even though they hit at mid-ankle, her legs still looked a mile long.

Lake Bell: Red was Lake’s colour du jour in this Valentino Spring 2018 number, where she fully committed to the hue from head to toe. It was undoubtedly striking despite its inherent quirkiness—and my wish that the poncho-style dress had a bit more shape.

Bianca Brandolini d’Adda: Taking a page from Victoria Beckham’s playbook, Bianca wore her loose trousers extra-long in this Valentino Resort 2018 ensemble, yet I still like the elongating, two-tone effect styled effortlessly with the knit jumper.

Olivia Palermo: I wanted to like this Valentino Spring 2018 look, but Olivia yet again lost me with the proportion play here between the dark hue of the black cropped top, the loosely flowing, powdery-blue dress, and the long granny-chic sweater. I’m sure the frock had some beautiful movement away from that sweater.

Izabel Goulart: Showing off one of the label’s Spring 2018 mini frocks, the model was lovely in this little white dress that tempered her sexy style with a precious twist in the ruffled collar detail and long bow at the back.

Clotilde Courau: Sheer lace again made an appearance in this Valentino Resort 2018 gown, which was one of the more dramatic looks on the front row. The graphic, pixel print coat added something of a multi-colour, boho spirit to the dress.

Donatella Versace: The designer was very recognizable in a signature Versace look, with this close-fitting asymmetrical black dress styled with platforms.
