Margot Robbie In Michael Lo Sordo – ‘I, Tonya’ Sydney Premiere

Just 24 hours after treading the red carpet at the SAG Awards in Los Angeles, Margot Robbie returned home today (January 23) for the Sydney premiere of the critically acclaimed ‘I, Tonya’, following her Oscar nomination.

I’ve always been a fan of Margot’s style, but the romantic mood she’s been channeling this year has been really awe-inspiring.

On this occasion she supported local designer Michael Lo Sordo.

It’s clear the focus was on simplicity and elegance, from the silk satin gown to the simple bun and neutral tones of her makeup.

Are you finally ready to show Margot some love?

dress needed serious hemming, didn’t fit right around bust and her hair….Lord I have no words. How can a rising star be so sloppy in award season? Her PR and style team needed an intervention pronto

The white satin is luminous. The style of the dress is an absolute mess.

‘Are you ready to show Margot some love?’ Hell. No*
This typifies why her style is so DOA. Sloppy, non-tailored and insipid.
*I saw the following with a ‘She’s so drop dead beautiful does it really matter?’ warning!

Sorry but no. The fit is horrid. She’s not tall and statuesque enough to pull off that loose fitted top AND satin, so it just looks horribly sloppy and massive on her.

She is not that short…she is 5’6; The fit is just terrible, absolutely awful

    HORRID. A nighty is a nighty is a nighty is a nighty…

messy but the fabric is what I wished my curtains looked like!
Who the hell put her in this dress in the first place. smh

I saw other pics of this online and thought this was a true WOW moment. But now that people are pointing out the fit issues, I can’t unsee it and overall this look is a big let down that could have had a lot of potential.

Horrible fit. Bad sizing. No excuses.

Reminds me of Dakota Johnson’s beautiful Valentino dress last year at the Fifty Shades Darker premiere.

I saw other pictures and she kept pulling the dress all over the place to prevent it from falling I guess………..the fit is horrible.
This would have been a beautiful, had the dress had a better fit……… this is NO from me

I am as in favor of a slip dress or nightgown couture as anyone but this looks like Margot is wearing a nightgown that she borrowed from a much taller and much bustier friend. Fit really is everything because the fabric is beautiful as Meme said below

I’m enjoying the relaxed cut of the dress and her effortless styling. A win for me.

This would be stunning if it was properly fitted. The dress is gaping on the sides. I love the idea of simple elegance but this just looks a bit sloppy to me.

I think she’s gorgeous and if the top of this dress fit her properly, this would be perfection. the fabric is gorgeous.

Okay, I do have to admit that she really pulls this off and her styling is on point. I do think it appears to be a bit ill-fitting, but it’s still a great look and the fabric is beautiful.
I’ve never been a big fan of her style, but I can say that that’s more a personal preference and this is really something I could get into. It’s definitely growing on me. Eight out of ten, I’d say.

  17. Lara January 23, 2018 at 19:14 #

From the photos at this event, Margot was clearly uncomfortable in this ill-fitting (around the armpits) dress. She kept hunching her shoulders and seemed to struggle to carry the front, as the dress is split on wither side. Not a fan. Even her beauty look seems subpar.

  18. Caroline January 23, 2018 at 19:09 #

    Back to her messy style.
