Greta Gerwig In Monse – 2018 Producers Guild Awards

Greta Gerwig attended the 2018 Producers Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday (January 20).

The actress and director wore a deep emerald Monse gown from the Pre-Fall 2018 collection accompanied with a Roger Vivier ‘Cigarette’ bag.

While I simply adore this color, and appreciate that this gown fits perfectly into Greta’s personal aesthetic, I’m just not 100% sold on it. I actually really like the asymmetrical seaming, which adds some fun visual interest, but I think it’s the combination of it with the ruched sleeves and the shoulder cut-outs that just makes it all too much for me.

What do you think? Are on board, or questioning the look?

I adore the color–wish the seams were a bit more relaxed, but it’s such a gorgeous color I can’t be mad at it.

Its a mess of a dress. overly fussy.

The color is gorgeous and the fit is good but this dress reminds me quite forcefully of why I do not usually like Monse. Can they make a dress with getting fussy and overly complicated for no apparent reason?

Reminds me of her Prabal Gurung gown at the 2012 met gala.

Another Monserrat mess of a dress.

Damn spellcheck..MONSE mess of a dress.

Spell check or not, I agree with you.

The color is gorgeous on her and I’m not bothered by the sleeves, I really like this.

The colour is great, but the dress itself is a mess.

Almost a hit. I think it’s the sleeves that bother me.

Hate the sleeves. It would be so much better without them… and the bag. Love the color.

    Looks plain cheap.

I totally agree. It is too fussy and overcomplicated for no purpose whatsoever.

I do love the colour though.
