Sonam Kapoor In Kojak Studio – ‘Pad Man’ London Photocall

The minute I saw Sonam Kapoor at the ‘Pad Man’ London photocall on Thursday (January 18), she took my breath away.

Continuing her monochromatic form, this Kojak Studio Spring 2018 look commanded the room with a strength of form and sweeping beauty that we’d expect in a dress.

Yet, this red suit was the very definition of modern power dressing, marrying the strong tailoring of the menswear-inspired blazer with the feminine drape of the trousers.

I love how her long, dark waves added even more alluring drama.

A tonal red Thale Blanc bag completed the look.

Great idea but poor execution. The trousers are sweeping the floor. The proportions are off
Sonam has lush hair but here’s it’s distracting.

Love the hair, but not with the outfit which was already not working for me.

It’s nice at first glance but agree with the others about the pants looking too long if she stands up straight and the hair should be back also the pieces seem to be in different shades of red.

Not bad on the runway but Sonam is a miss. The fit is all off, especially the trailing clownish pants. Hair looks dull and drags down the whole look, and the red bag is overkill.

let’s leave the outfit alone for a second and check out the background 😀

I think she is wearing the exact color like the runway model,it’s just the lighting created the optical illusion.
But I wish her hair was pulled back or in a ponytail.

Well I do love the lookbook version of this a lot. I do still like it on Sonam but there seems to be some issues with the colour and proportions but she still manages to somewhat carry this off.

I don’t like the different tones of red. Esp the blazer, the color of it looks dingy and old.
The blazer is also too boxy for my taste and looks silly.
The pants look too wide and yes, I despise too-long pants.
Its too much and weighted down by all that hair.

She has the height and presence to not drown in those heaps of fabric, but this looks comically disproportionate. Playing with proportions is one thing, when it starts making you look like CGI was involved it’s a step too far.
Hair is on point though, and I do appreciate the effort to deliver something fresh and chic.

I almost like this, but it’s toooo much. Take away one thing, either the blazer, shirt, or pants and the look would be beter.

A boxy blazer only works over something that is not also about exaggerated proportions.

ITA. Those trousers look almost comical.

Almost. The tonal issues and the length of the trousers keep this from being a winning look.

Love it–although my brain keeps querying whether these are really the same shades of red. Takes me out of the look a little.

    • JHH January 18, 2018 at 22:19 #

I see four different shades of red but I am hoping that is the lighting in the photo.

    • Marie January 19, 2018 at 01:13 #

      Oh dear, now I can’t unsee it…

  14. CreoleLady January 18, 2018 at 22:10 #

I am trying to warm up to boxy oversized blazers but I just can’t.And how is it that the pants are too long on someone who is 5’11”? Kudos for it not being a princess gown, though.

  15. JHH January 18, 2018 at 21:12 #

Hem the pants, please. I am starting to find the un-hemmed pants more annoying than the sheer overload and that is saying something.

And we both know that is saying a lot! 😉

Such a 180 compared to the more traditional gowns she usually wears. She looks amazing! The trousers should have been a bit shorter, but still, I love this look.

+1. Love the soft play with volumes while keeping a solid colour.
