Elsa Pataky In Dolce & Gabbana – ’12 Strong’ World Premiere

Elsa Pataky joined husband Chris Hemsworth for the ’12 Strong’ world premiere on Tuesday (January 16) in New York City.

When it comes to sheer dresses; I’m a bit of a flip flopper. I loved Amanda Holden’s red sheer dress, but hated the sheer elements on Halle Berry’s.

I could’ve seen myself falling in love with Elsa’s Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2017 dress- mostly for the artistic laser cuts – But Elsa lost me around the chest area.

I don’t know if they are pads, a white bra or nipple covers, but I found the runway look more visually appealing.

NOOOOOOO this is dreadful. It looks worse than on the runway. LINE THINGS. STOP MAKING SHEER THINGS.

Not a fan of see-through / sheer dresses (what is the point of wearing them if all people see is underwear or lack of it?), but if she really had to do this, she should have gone for the runway look. It kind of works out with black fabric underneath and panties that do not make an obvious impression of being just panties.

    Enough with the panties already.

I mean, I kind of see what the idea behind this probably was; the gorgeous laser cut design won’t be visible with something black underneath.
And I had a random flash of genius: Why not try to line it in an unexpected colour? But like, the whole dress.
That way we have no panties, no weird bra thingies, no uncomfortable almost-nudeness that sometimes is caused by nude lining and the design around the bottom of the skirt would be visible as well, which is not the case here.
I’m thinking along the lines of pink, but any colour would be fine. I’m not sure if that would’ve looked good, but definitely better than this fashion nightmare…

      +1 That’s a very good idea!!

Why do they bother wearing this sheer “dresses” just come out of your house wearing underwear and that’s it! Much easier

I’m a really big animal lover, but at this point I’m almost seriously considering to sacrifice a lamb on the altar of The Fashion Gods if it means it will put an end to the sheer trend.

    Almost, almost.

    No more please.

Lol!!! We just don’t know what to do to end this nightmare of naked ladies on the RC

NO. White bra/cups under this??? what??
Sheer/panty/bra thing looks so dated now to me. I cant just let it go.

this is a nightmare. I do not know what is undergarment, what is lining, what is the dress. It just is a big MESS:

Okay, so is it safe to assume that sheer fatigue will continue to plague us in 2018? Clearly this “trend” is here to stay.

  13. meme January 18, 2018 at 14:50 #

Absolutely not. No. Zip. Zilch. Zero. Put some damn clothes on.

  14. Mimi January 18, 2018 at 14:48 #

You know there’s a problem when the runway model is more covered up than you are…

Why on earth would she wear a white bra but black panties under this? What a perplexing choice. It’s so much better on the model.

easy to understand that the catwalk isn’t prescriptive, it’s just a show.
