Gal Gadot In Elie Saab – The National Board Of Review Annual Awards Gala

Excluding the Golden Globes black-out, Gal Gadot continued to embrace bold hues on the red carpet for the 2018 The National Board Of Review Annual Awards Gala on Tuesday (January 9) in New York City.

Elie Saab famously doesn’t design with trends in mind, that’s why this waterfall-blue Spring 2018 one-shoulder gown is so timeless.

I don’t miss the belt as the colour is dazzling enough, plus cut-out and train keeps this piece interesting.

René Caovilla ‘Snake’ sandals rounded out her simple, yet striking look.

I obviously miss the belt! It’s a no for me.

Lovely. I like the design and the color really lifts it up. gorgeous

To be honest, I don’t miss the belt at all. The cerulean blue color is everything as it complements Gal’s milky skin tone perfectly. The fact that the radiant smile really elevates the whole look to a high level of effortless gorgeousness!! SLAY Gal SLAY, no wonder she’s your ultimate Wonder Woman indeed!!

This is beautiful, but i miss the belt

I miss the belt and I wish she had gone for a sleek wet hair look. As is, it looks like she had to leave before they put the finishing touches on her.

I wish there was a belt instead of a cut-out…not necessarily the runway belt, just A belt. But the blue is heavenly on her.

Unfinished feel to it. I don’t like it. Its almost sloppy.

I miss the belt, but she looks lovely.

if not the belt, maybe statement earrings or bracelets. If feels too naked, i.e. not the skin, but the dress. Too simple.

Nice enough but I’m missing the belt as a statement feature.

This shade of blue on her is everything, but I just want Elizabeth Stewart who styles her and Jessica Chastain to tap into the magic she brings to her work with Cate Blanchett and stop putting Gal and Jessica in these overly simplistic looks for events such as this when the celebrities are more free to take risks.

I appreciate the intended simplicity of the whole look, but I think I would’ve enjoyed it more with a more elaborate hairstyle. Not only because it’s a gala after all, but because it reads a bit summery/daytime.

The dress on its own is a sleek, streamlined piece, so I don’t think that a touch of jewellery or a hairdo would’ve killed the spirit of simplicity and minimalism.

      Good point.

Gal typically does not do much with her hair.

Completely agree. I think that with a sleek bun this will look amazing <3

    • Leandra January 10, 2018 at 19:28 #

Exactly. Her version is definitely for daytime. For a dress-up event she looks undone.

Sleek and perfection. And her makeup is always on point.

Simple but great. The colour is gorgeous and I like the minimal styling. I think I would’ve loved the belt too, but it’s great like this as well.

    • Aubrey January 10, 2018 at 14:48 #

+1 looks amazing but I think the belt would have brought it to perfection!

A lovely, sleek and polished look. I think the dress could have done with a belt (although perhaps not that studded monstrosity Romee wore on the runway) but I won’t mark the look down for its absence. Love the fresh and unfussy makeup look too. All in all, a great effort.
