Diane Kruger In Prada – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

Diane Kruger arrived on the 2018 Globes Red Carpet looking ethereal in a flowing Prada gown.

This intricately detailed piece worked well with impeccable tailoring and simple pulled back hair. With its beading and design elements like the midriff cut out and cape flowing behind her, Diane made a statement even though she stuck to the black dress code.

Graziela Gems jewels and a silver clutch topped off her look without taking away from this stunning dress.

Here is how you stand out in a black dress! She is in my top five of the night for sure. Her presence and the intricacy meld together for a very powerful look. I don’t love the midriff cutout, but that’s a minor detail. It’s a very impressive feat to be this commanding in black.

    BEST DRESSED!!!

  3. justme January 8, 2018 at 18:20 #

My favorite dress of the night.

Her hair & makeup are boring but that’s Diane’s motto so I’ll just focus on the gown.

  4. from-chitown January 8, 2018 at 17:25 #

Wow – what a fantastic look!! She looks regal and stunning. Definitely the BDOTW for me. I can’t believe its a Prada. I am so excited to see her back to doing what she does on the red carpet – SLAY!! I hope her fashion mojo is back for keeps.

  5. Jerusa Herrera January 8, 2018 at 14:32 #

BEST of the night! Regal Diane.

    • mm January 8, 2018 at 14:58 #

      Regal is right!!

  6. Leandra January 8, 2018 at 11:26 #

Honestly, I can’t understand all the excitement about it. I find kind of dull, nothing new design wise, neither materials or placement of bedazzling. It rests very far away from the 10 best of the night.

    • charlotte January 8, 2018 at 12:57 #

exactly! she has done the cape and dress combo a million times before and there is nothing new about her styling either, same old hair and makeup.

Diane is far more hit and miss for me than average on the blog. This certainly is a miss for me, I’m baffled by all the excitement. Her pose certainly is very commanding and statuesque, but the dress? The hair? Or the make-up? Can’t see anything special about any of these to be honest.

      • Leandra January 9, 2018 at 01:37 #

        Perfectly said.

    • Schoolbea January 9, 2018 at 13:33 #

I’m with you on this… I fail to see what is so exciting about the dress itself. I find the embellishments distracting, even… I agree with CreoleLady that it looks fussy and overworked.

      • Nat39 January 10, 2018 at 02:59 #

It’s interesting how perceptions can be different hehe… I find it light-handed and delicately intricate instead 🙂 Agreeing with Chris below that this is probably the most expensive looking Prada gown ever.

        • Schoolbea January 10, 2018 at 14:24 #

With that I can agree. The luxury feel is wonderful 🙂

  7. JHH January 8, 2018 at 10:47 #

I am not a fan of this. Too much bedazzling and I don’t find this flattering on her figure at all. But neck up, she looks gorgeous. Her makeup artist needs to give lessons to whoever did Debra Messing’s.

  8. alvarospain January 8, 2018 at 09:58 #

    Too much.

  9. Susie January 8, 2018 at 08:07 #

This is far and away the best look of the night, and probably the only interesting look to come out of this subdued event that I’ll remember at the end of the year.

  10. Amy January 8, 2018 at 08:07 #

Dreamy. Diane is the ultimate red carpet queen. Everytime I tend to forget that she comes back with a gorgeous look and kills it.
    I love it. BDOTW nominee

I believe this is my favorite at the event.

  12. Alina January 8, 2018 at 06:37 #

Wow, this is a beautiful gown. It’s so beautiful that I didn’t even feel the need to add ‘for a Prada gown’ to the previous sentence. Plus, Diane knows more than well how to work it. Welcome back, Diane!

  13. Sam January 8, 2018 at 06:27 #

Gorgeous! So light and airy. Most of the gowns tonight were too dark/solid, but this is how you wear black (in solidarity) to a Hollywood event.

Queen Diane just regained her fashion queen mojo in this Prada caped gown!! Subtly elegant yet dramatically impactful, this is how you SLAY the fashion A-game in the best way possible!! Well done Diane, just so GORGEOUS as always!!

  17. Crystalline January 8, 2018 at 03:37 #

Diane and her dress must have been look more amazing in person. I love the intricate beadings and the flowy sheer cape. She definitely made a strong statement and presence on this red carpet. My best dress thus far.

  18. Kimma January 8, 2018 at 03:26 #

Beautiful gown, beautifully presented. A definite winner for Diane

  19. Pedro January 8, 2018 at 02:48 #

One of her best looks ever!

    BDTOW

  20. CreoleLady January 8, 2018 at 02:40 #

Hmmm, to me it looks fussy and overworked, par for the course Prada. So many love it, I came back to reconsider. I do like the simple hair and small earrings. Not entirely convinced though.

  21. Boy January 8, 2018 at 02:31 #

Best dressed hands down so far.

  22. Nat39 January 8, 2018 at 02:30 #

    Wow, I’m floored.

Oh wow!! I am in awe! What a stunning look! My best dressed of the night…Prada and Diane did it again!

  25. Giada January 8, 2018 at 02:15 #

Favourite dress of the night so far. I love it so much. Glad she got her red carpet mojo back.

Does anyone happen to know the designer/brand of the earrings?

  26. Maria S January 8, 2018 at 02:14 #

Bringing Cannes to LA 😉 Gorgeous as always, back to good-old Diane.

  27. Pheephee January 8, 2018 at 02:14 #

Regal. She looks so regal. I don’t want to like this as much as I do because its Prada but she really makes it work.
Regal is the only proper word here.

    • Giada January 8, 2018 at 02:16 #

      Perfectly stated. Regal indeed.

  28. Kay January 8, 2018 at 02:13 #

Best dressed for me! I love that it isn’t as opaque and black-on-black-on-black-on-black as everyone else’s looks. Well played!

  29. SilentVisitor January 8, 2018 at 02:12 #

Love, absolutely love this………can’t believe this is Prada, I thought it was GV

  30. Meme January 8, 2018 at 02:11 #

This is stunningly gorgeous. Diane is gorgeous.

  31. Christine January 8, 2018 at 02:08 #

The details are beautiful, but I am kind of on the fence. Instead of nude lining, black lining would’ve been better.

  32. Ana January 8, 2018 at 02:08 #

I saw a snippet of this and knew it’d be my favourite of the night. I’m glad she kept her hair and make-up simple otherwise I think it’d have a bit too much going on.

  33. Caroline January 8, 2018 at 02:07 #

One of my favorites of the night.

  34. Maya January 8, 2018 at 02:07 #

I like this much, much more than I should.

  35. Isabela January 8, 2018 at 02:06 #

I love her dress, the hair doesn’t look polished though

  36. Chris January 8, 2018 at 02:04 #

Wow, I hadn’t seen a proper picture of this so far. This is definitely in contention to be the most expensive looking Prada gown I have ever seen. Stunning.

I was pleasanlty surprised that this dreamy dress was a prada.

    • Nat39 January 10, 2018 at 03:05 #

Same thought exactly. Probably the most expensive looking Prada gown ever. And it’s not just the delicate intricacy of embellishments, but also how well the lining is done – it’s very light as to not weigh down the gown w/o being too tan or nude-y (which is the case with Jessica Biel’s gown).
