Laurie Metcalf In Christian Siriano – 29th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival

Laurie Metcalf opened her awards season account at the 29th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala on Tuesday (January 2) in Palm Springs, California.

With Oscar buzz surrounding ‘Lady Bird’, we’re likely to be seeing lot of the actress in the coming weeks.

Christian Siriano is one designer I expect to see a lot of during awards season. I love how this Pre-Fall 2017 dress has a bit of everything.

A relaxed vibe suited to the occasion, plenty of modernity and simplicity despite the asymmetrical colour-blocking.

Laura’s Lee Savage ‘North Stack’ teal and gold clutch plus L.K. Bennett ‘Agate’ gold sandals enhanced this gorgeous look further.

I want to like this but can’t because it wears her and is very unflattering

I think this is daring and surprising. Even the choice of the gold shoe is intriguing. No, it doesn’t work completely, but that’s what happens when you take a risk.

    So unflattering.

I like this dress and the shoes but not on Laurie Metcalf. The dress just does not fit her well.

Agreed, not sure it’s the right dress for her. (Also don’t think her gold accessories go well here, silver metallic would make more sense).

Sadly I agree. I hope someone else takes this on.

I love her but this dress is terrible and she also needs to ease up on the botox. Great actress.

Although very “simple” her look was one of the most interesting at the event. I like the unusual colour combination and how the asymmetrical lines add movement to the silhouette.

This is a well-thought-out look, style-wise. Just wish it fit better.

The dress itself is lovely but the fit across the bust is quite unflattering unfortunately.

She’s not much of a fashion person so I honestly didn’t have expectations for her awards season fashion-wise, but considering that, this is a surprisingly nice start to her awards season!
