Yara Shahidi In Claudia Li – ‘Grown-ish’ LA Premiere

If you were worried that ‘Black-ish’ won’t the same when Zoey (Yara Shahidi) heads off to college, then have no fear as the spin-off, ‘Grown-ish’, will follow Zoey as she and begins her journey to adulthood.

The premiere took place in LA last night (December 14) with the lady of the hour hitting the red carpet in Claudia Li.

In her Spring 2018 jumpsuit the actress masters playful-chic style with midriff cut-out lending a sweetly feminine feel to the loose-fit.

I’d like to think she amped up the spirited feel with some clunky platforms.

MATEO earrings completed her look.

The pants could have been shorter, but it’s a great look nevertheless.

The makeup could be toned down and the trousers hemmed but otherwise it’s a nice look.

I find it ok. I like the color. Agree with others about makeup and hair.

I love this minus the makeup. Beautiful colour, and interesting design. Her smile is everything!

I love Yara, but whoever made up her face like a clown should be hung out to dry. I like neither her makeup nor her hair style on this occasion. The style of the outfit is wonderful and appropriate, but I do not like the fabric choice.

I agree. Not a fan of the hair either.

The outfit is nice, but does not wow me.

I find her so much more natural than Zendaya who always comes off as try hard with her fashion. Yara on the other hand is always dressed age appropriately and more importantly, her stylist seems to respect her authentic self. I also adore her natural hair and the fact that she doesn’t hide it behind some phony wigs. I hope she wins Best Teen of the year awardas she would totally deserve it imo.

ITA. I especially agree about the comparison to Zendaya. Both are young starlets who are the current people who apparently invented fashion but with Zendaya, the looks often seem very contrived and aimed at getting into the fashion press or blogs whereas Yara’s outfits usually do seem to as you say “respect her authentic self.” BTW, I love this look. I wish the pants were a touch shorter but that is a nit pick.
