Laura Dern In Gabriela Hearst – ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ London Photocall

Following last night’s premiere, the Laura Dern was back on the red carpet for the ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ photocall in London today (December 13).

I think it’s fair to say that she’s yet thrill you during this promo tour, as you haven’t liked her Vivienne Westwood or Alexander McQueen gowns.

I would like to say things will change when you see her in this custom red Gabriela Hearst suit, but when I look at the length of the trousers, methinks you will consider this her third strike.

This look had the potential to be her best yet, but for a custom piece, those trousers should fit perfectly.

If she was pantless maybe…With pants , no!

What is going on with those pants?? Who would think this is a good idea?

Nooooooo! This could’ve been so epic 🙁

Most disappointing red carpet run of the year.

With a better fit this would have been her PB.

      I agree.
The fit is a shame (for the pants and for the jacket!).
Too bad, the color was lovely on her.

This could have been amazing with a better fit of the trousers. Everything else is perfect. Such a shame.

hmm, this could’ve been great, but the fit and length of the pants do ruin it.
She’s had a pretty good year, so I indeed had bigger hopes for her Star Wars promo tour run.

The fit of the trousers pains me, especially as it custom made. If they had been tailored properly I would have loved this, even for a premiere look.

ITA. Are there no tailors available for celebrities? Maybe they are too busy tailoring clothes for regular people. I know the tailor that I go to here in California takes about a week to alter my pants and maybe celebs can’t wait that long.

it is one of my pet peeves. My mom is a seamstress and she would get palpitations seeing somebody wear ill fitting clothes. It is such a contradiction to me that stylists apparently do not care about something so crucial.

And I would assume that these outfits get planned with enough time. I suspect that clothes get returned and therefore not altered.

It’s a celebrity attending wearing a designer piece to a high profile event. One would think they had a while to know the timing of the event to get the look fitted and I don’t doubt they had a budget to get a tailor quickly involved.

The fit of the trousers make this a potential WDOTY look. Sad.
