Keira Knightley In Valentino – The London Evening Standard Theatre Awards

We’ve seen a few sightings of Keira Knightley this year on the red carpet, but I have been dying to see her back at her best for a big event, and that came courtesy of the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards on Sunday (December 3).

And of course it would be Valentino who would furnish the occasion.

Her Spring 2018 tulle gown with contrasting green satin bows is the thing girls fairytales; and costume departments on the set of period dramas are made of.

It’s vintage Keira at her very best.

I’m sure there are many cheers of joy that she lined the piece, but either way I would’ve been blown away by the majestic nature of it all.

It’s looks like a period piece without being overly costumey and the green bows stop it being one note.

The lining weighs it down a bit, but this is dreamy (!) and the green ribbons make it more interesting.

I think I will add this to my best of the year

I love this on her. I wasn’t ready to like much off that Valentino collection, but Keira brings it. The only thing I dislike is the lenght of the green bows. They just look in the way.

I want to love this. I really do. On paper, there is not one single reason why I shouldn’t like this look, but… it falls flat. I love the dress, but I think the colour is not working for Keira. I would like to see a re-run of it on Rose Byrne or Zoe Saldana.

    +lining the dress
    – boring color and the green bows/ribbons, really ?!
    So it’s a no.

Its a pretty ugly dress. So colourless on her. I think the froufrou-ness of it is off-putting and childish. And the green bows are an eyesore.
Its like an newbie amateur dressmaker made it. Its so bad.

I don’t like this dress. I think that even Keira makes it look good, a miss for me.

Oops….I don’t think that even Keira makes it look good.

I know this could’ve been better without the green bows but honestly, this took my breath away nonetheless. To me this is BDOTW and BDOTY contender too. Ethereal.

I would positively adore this if it weren’t for those unnecessary silly green bows. And YES, i am thrilled she lined it.

I would’ve liked this if it wasn’t for the green. It just doesn’t’ make any sense to me. If they were neutral or maybe burgundy this would’ve been stunning for me.

stunning, she looks radiant in it.she looks best in valentino.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE!

The dress looks great, and I really like the green bows. They are unexpected, fun and they help to prevent her from looking washed out.

BDOTW candidate, and for me also BDOTY!

I m surprised that many people dislike it…For me this is a masterpiece and she is such a beautiful woman. The dress reveals her shoulders and neck so gracefully! I love it!

I love it, gorgeous and dramatic.

  16. Giada December 4, 2017 at 13:05 #

This seems a bit aging on her. Not a fan.

  17. charlotte December 4, 2017 at 13:03 #

those green bows ruined it for me tbh

  18. Leandra December 4, 2017 at 13:02 #

Honestly ? Ridiculous. Unless she was on her way of a period drama I can’t see why she decided to wear a costume.

It’s just so colorless, the dress matches her skin tone so closely and the makeup is too neutral. I want to love this because it feels so Keira and I like the fact that she wore it off the shoulder but it has too many flaws.

  20. Lashae December 4, 2017 at 12:48 #

Only thing I can say positive about this is that unlike the runway version its lined because I really anything about this dress.

    • Lashae December 4, 2017 at 12:48 #

      *don’t like anything

  21. CreoleLady December 4, 2017 at 12:24 #

Looks better in motion and from the side.Too cotton candy-ish for me.

    • Maria F. December 4, 2017 at 13:18 #

i agree. If they would have edited it and just done the ribbons, not the large bows, it would have been okay for me.

  22. Iva December 4, 2017 at 12:21 #

    Fairytale look.

I wouldn’t have like this on anyone, but Keira looks gorgeous here.
