Front Row @ Givenchy Spring 2018

Paris Fashion Week saw a host of pretties on the front row at the Givenchy Spring 2018 show on Sunday (October 1) to witness designer Clare Waight Keller’s first collection for the label.

Lily Collins: Angelic with an edge. That’s exactly how I’d describe Lily’s diaphanous white lace dress punctuated by the black under-straps and mod white booties. I did find myself wishing for a more streamlined, barely-there black sandal here.

Cate Blanchett: Queen Cate was back in all her glory in this impossibly chic suiting ensemble. I love how the cropped proportions and the midnight-blue lip motif on the jacket—coupled with her pendant necklaces—brought a sense of unconventional yet effortless sophistication to the look.

Fan Bingbing: Despite its all-white palette, there was a dramatic allure that permeated this trench dress that saw Fan continuing to step across the line of her go-to, princess-and-platform styles. She balanced the subtle mystique of the sheer sleeves, which was echoed in the sheer gloves and sheer pants, with her sleek bun and bold red lip.

Natalia Vodianova: Her loose white, textural dress and oversized black suit jacket set a relaxed-chic mood that was reflected in her au-naturel beauty look.

Rooney Mara: Sultry romance on the top; business on the bottom—it made for the ultimate elegant combination on Rooney.

Julianne Moore: Also working the feminine appeal of a sheer lace top, Julianne paired hers with the impeccable tailoring of a crisp white suit for a magnetically chic look.

Apparently, all six of these beauties got the black-and-white memo, what with their coordinated, monochromatic moments. It made for quite the chic front row.
