Jennifer Lawrence In Christian Dior Couture – ‘Mother!’ New York Premiere

Jennifer Lawrence blew me away with her latest Dior Couture look for the New York premiere of ‘Mother!’ on Wednesday (September 13).

I’m pretty sure some might say this tulle gown is too bridal, but I think the grey mixed with the white gives this a look different dimension.

Personally, I’m so swept up in the fairytale romance of it all. Especially with the floral detailing accenting her updo.

Jennifer and Dior haven’t been my favourite fashion union, but this has been her most impressive promo tour since the first ‘Hunger Games’ film.

She could even be in the running for promo tour star of 2017.

Are Jill & Jordan still styling her? Because for me the biggest change so far is the styling and the image she’s pulling out lately.
Might be a thing for this promo tour, whish not, but I’m celebrating what she has been offering lately. She has the age, and certainly the fame, to pull out edgy and interesting looks and this one is one to applaude.
She is on point with the movie theme, she looks flawless and is different from her last rc appearences.
Kuddos to JLaw and this look. Still not as jaw dropping as the Versace surprise, but overall she looks radiant.

Yes, she’s still with Jill & Jordan.

I will never forget when she first burst on the scene for me in a beautifully minimalistic red Calvin Klein dress. Then Dior (some hits, many misses) to the man who has now taken over (ruined) design for CK (irony). I have always thought sporty chic, fitted, simple lines with strong color suited her best. This? Bridal, fouffy, insipid, and a no for me.

I agree with you. She looks very bridal and Dior most of the time is a miss for her. I will she would keep the amazing clean lines of her debut on red carpet.

She looks gorgeous. I accept. I dont care if its a wee bridal, in this case.
It is so good on her and she looks radiant.

    This is so wonderful.

What I love about this look is not only its simple elegance, but how it evokes the poster of the film BEAUTIFULLY. The dress code for the premiere was “dress for a funeral”, then Jennifer walked out wearing this… what a great way to steal the show lol. Love it.

… here comes the bride …

    • kane September 14, 2017 at 22:46 #

I’d be totally fine with that.

Never thought I’d add a Jennifer-Lawrence-in-Dior look to my BDOTY contender list!

    • Leandra September 14, 2017 at 17:54 #

Wow… look who is back… “the good soon always come home” ( or something like that, not sure right now )

Oh my goodness you two are too sweet! I am a constant reader but have not been able to comment faithfully because of wifi and scheduling issues. But it is nice to see other familiar names and be remembered! 😀

I’m absolutely in awe, she looks ethereal in this! The white-grey mix indeed grounds the look a bit and I love the addition of the red manicure and make-up.

She’s been on quite a roll, lately, and I do agree she’s about to bring herself in the run for best promo, her looks have been diverse and rarely a miss.

*Channeling posh spice circa 2006* “Darling, this really is Major!”

When I first saw this look on INS,I let out a loud gay gasp.
That’s how much I LOVE this look, she has never looked better,a complete ethereal angel descended from Asgard.

BRIDAL . BRIDAL. BRIDAL. I m only missing the rings bearer.
    Boring and uninspiring.
And the red ish eye makeup looks like she got conjuntivitis.

Such a beautiful look, impeccable fit, she looks dreamy, BDOTW worthy.

To anyone complaining about it being white – I think it’s a reference to the movie, her character wears a white gown during the finale of the movie and on one of the main posters. The flowers in her hair, they’re also on one of the posters, I think. So it’s pretty well thought out, this look and it’s all got it’s purpose imo.

I love this dress and Jennifer looks fantastic. She’s killing it for this promo tour.

  14. Pedro September 14, 2017 at 14:17 #

    She looks flawless! BDOTW

  15. gabis September 14, 2017 at 13:02 #

Hair and makeup needed to be better to prevent the bridal feeling of the dress.

  16. dedel September 14, 2017 at 12:57 #

I’m loviiiiiiing it. She looks youthfull and full of energy.

The flowers in the hairdo is gorgeous, and the dress (custom?), is beautiful! Thoughts on her after party dress?

  19. Maria F. September 14, 2017 at 12:09 #

too bridal especially with the flowers in her hair.

Also, after having seen her in slinky, fitting dresses, I always have the impression that she is playing dress up in the dresses with tulle skirts.

and last but not least, even if i would like her in such dresses, this one is nothing spectacular.

So, yeah, it’s a no for me.

I find this look very boring. We saw this kind of dress so many times!
I much prefer her after party look.

  21. Iva September 14, 2017 at 12:08 #

    Too bridal for me, sorry.

My first thought ” too bridal”

    • Leandra September 14, 2017 at 17:55 #

      Amen to that.

    • Alina September 14, 2017 at 19:00 #

+5. This is not a great look imo. It’s too bridal and, honestly, quite boring.

  22. Chris September 14, 2017 at 12:04 #

    Breathtaking! This is major.
Between the Dior in Venice, the Atelier Versace and now this, she should totally be in the running for best promo tour, even if some of the looks inbetween weren’t as consistent, it’s been a lot of fun to watch her and these three looks have all been BDOTY worthy.

She also wore a Ralph and Russo Couture gown to the after party.
